Communism is the next stage of humanity following the capitalist stage and the socialist stage.
What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

Do you think a Marxist-Leninist, Democratic Centralism/Soviet-style dictatorship of the proletariat would fit within the material conditions of the US? Lately, I've come to think that, given the cultural fetishization of "freedom," bourgeois as it is, some form of decentralized, more libertarian marxist/anarchist or council communist, less authoritarian revolution would have more successs. More like the Paris Commune than the USSR. What do you think?

Whether it's taken seriously or not is irrelevant. Marginalism only explains a particular trend in value, not the value itself. And even that has long been discarded as most economists today believe value is subjective and ordinal. Which is to say they don't even address the subject of value at all.
Interestingly though, Marxism is actually capable of being formulated under marginalist principles while reaching the same conclusions, which is what the Analytical School did.

I like him. He's probably my second favorite founding father after Thomas Paine. Of the bourgeois revolutionaries who founded our republic, his ideas were probably the most enlightened of the time, despite his personal failings.
Never let it be said that I am not a patriot. I am merely one of a different stripe, who wishes to do right by his country and to uphold and refine the ideals it was founded on, as opposed to merely repeating empty platitudes while shoving burgers into his mouth.
