Considering the major Chinese investments there, highly unlikely. You would also have to deal with a total collapse of the Russian relationship and they having a proxy war by supplying the Mongolians. The one valid country I can think of is Vietnam, provided they can fabricate a valid reason to go to war, fighting in Vietnam provides a whole set of issues tough and might not be the experience they are looking for

The obvious place is Central Africa. New China will be created to "protect Chinese workers and property".
Africa is, ironically, the bread basket for China. If anyone threatens it, that is a threat to the well being of the mainland.
Mongolia is void of natural resources and piss poor, India have some military experience from fighting Pakis. After Africa, and maybe after one expedition to a country in the Middle East they may go for India, in coalition with Pakistan.
