Mexico was a shithole even before we became a nation.

Why should illegals get to be jailed with their kids? Not even US citizens get to have their kids in jail or prison with them? Why should Mexicans get special treatment? It's a violation of the 5th amendment.

Mexico has been a shithole from the beginning.
They took longer to take their independence and have had intermittent civil wars throughout their history.
They had a constitution similar to that of the US but as the quality of the people was worse Mexico couldn't improve.
It's akin to blaming Europeans for the state of Africa despite Europe elevating Africa from the stone/ early Bronze Age to modernity and massively improving the continent.
