Why are Americans so unpatriotic?

GGS's main focuses were three-fold.
1) relative abundance of domesticatable livestock and plants.
2) cultural adoption of higher forms of technology including forms of government
3) competition between similarly matched civilizations pushing towards the evolution of technology, strategy and government.

His theory on an East-West continental axis allows for the same plants to be grown across Eurasia at generally the same latitudes which allowed for the expansion of agriculture.

The America's and Africa by contrast have a North South axis which does not permit the same plants to be grown as readily in Minnesota as you would in Mexico. Thus limiting the widespread adoption of agriculture.

It may seem that way, but being unpatriotic as an American is actually SUPER PATRIOTIC. I know that may seem confusing, especially to a leaf. What can I say, it's a freedom thing.

1. The west in general was/is dominant because of its proficiency in warfare.
2. The proficiency in warfare is almost purely cultural.
Diamond can argue(and in fact did argue in certain debate) that yes, this is correct, except the geography is the reason why all of this has formed, despite the fact that in his book the geography does far more than just provide guidance for this and this specific culture to form, or that in the very same geographic region different cultures existed and didn't develop the same traits(myceans in Greece vs. Greeks from classical period).

The problem with arguing against GG&S is that it's constructed like like postmodrrnist philosophy. You have to argue against bunch of pseudointellectual nonsense thrown against you and yet after you're done your opponent can retreat to nearly endless amount o of "backup" nonsense piles. It's all "smartly" argued not to be correct or even work but to be impossible to argue against in academic manner, since you'd have to spend entire life deconstructing this bullshit and still wouldn't be done.

Well, the Aztecs were very proficient in warfare - they quickly and bloodily subdued a whole empire and even had "training battles" with their former foes. The people captured in those had the high honor to have their hearts ripped out for the greater glory of their gods.

First of all it was cortez and secondly it is about the level of the environment. Aztecs didn't fight westerners. When westerners came they massacred the shit out of Aztecs simply because the western way of warfare is superior. Political skill only goes so far. In few months, Cortez was producing gun powder and more advanced river boats than the new world has ever seen(so far). The idea of organised warfare in aztex society boiled down to warriors forming small teams meant to be more effective at capturing the enemy, for the west it was usually the idea of heavy infantry formation breaking down and killing enemies. This is different mentality in action, not just a matter of technological superiority or skill of some particular leader. As Hanson argued, you can talk a lot about great conquerors if the past, but when you look at it you can see that the western military organisation gives much larger "margin of error" when it comes to quality of leadership when conducting warfare.

Now I personally think that this goes deeper. Centuries or millenias of living in certain conditions simply made this mentality hard-coded in whites/westerners/Europeans which then produced the culture, but Hanson has kinda "it formed out of sheer luck in Greece and then spread into whole Europe with romans/christianity" which is okay especially since otherwise he'd be told that he's wrong because he's racist.
