I've been off social media for 10 months. I felt anxiety having snapchat and Instagram. I felt like I wasn't showing people the real me, just the version I wanted them to see. I also felt if it wasn't a distraction I could I could form better relationships with people. But everyone just communicates online and now I feel left out. Thinking about making a temporary social avian for a few months. Anyone else have this problem? Am i trippin?

Nice shoes

I literally haven't had FB since 2012

Not sure how people deal with all the shitty memes, baby pictures and political shit

never picked up an ig or snap account either

it's literally just self-promotion and it makes me sick how much time people waste on it

nazis better watch out !

>tfw will never be stopped in the woods and raped at crossbow-point by a fat old woman with fake tits

Is there really any point in living?

none since 2011 here
fuck that shit

This is a 10/10 in america

I’m gen z and grew up with the creation of social media. I don’t instagram the few attempts people tried to make me one and one time I decided to fully try it out. Hated it after a couple days and never went back on. Only use Snapchat for talking to girls don’t do any of that story bullshit. I still have a Facebook but never use it or talk on there. The only thing Facebook is good for is notifying on your friends birthdays. Get off and never look back I’m probably going to delete my Facebook soon. I kind of like the idea that nobody can search me up as easily and if they want to know what I’ve been up to they can just call me if they are actually interested

Social media is a colossal waste of time at best, and a socially corrosive psyop at worst. Cut it out of your life and you'll be better off.

Whatta Wookie! Yum.

Social media is a social disease

It's mind cancer that gets you to always think about projecting your image online rather than living your life

Quit that shit or at least use it to get others to quit

>But everyone just communicates online and now I feel left out.
I had Facebook way back when it was new, long before my mom, aunt or my cats' pet goldfish had it. I quickly realized how much time it occupied to be "in" and keeping up with what everybody was doing, so I quit. (Never had snapchat, instagram and so on)

And yes, I do feel left out. But it's just so utterly meaningless and stupid. The loneliness is far more bearable than social media ever will be (for me).

>I feel left out
Would you join a club of losers just to fit in or stand alone as a winner?

Good grief... it’s creepy thread day

Deleted all my social media and never looked back. People would never show you their real lives or be honest with you.

I still feel it was a great decision.

No you’re not trippin. Your true friends will stay your friends whether or not you have social media. As long as they can reach you via a phone( in order to set up real life meetings) you will be fine. If your friendship with someone relies on you having social media, it’s not a real friendship, and it’s not worth your time.

Nope. Stopped using social media back when I was 13, never used it since (I'm 20 now). It's a nice place if you want to live a life of lies as many people do (and you yourself said) but for those who feel compelled to stay truthful, its too hard.

stop using social media 2 years ago, improved my life greatly, will never use that shit again, now i only post on Jow Forums.

I stopped briefly after i joined the military. Family gives me shit and keeps sending me links on facebook then going "did you getthat article i sent you?" 4 or so years later i still have to tell them no i don't use facebook.
