I think a Pan-European thread in the way we imagine it is automatically opposed to the failed EU project. I see no chance to somehow reform this moloch into something sane ... alliance of distinct ethnostates still sounds most plausible to me. It is mostly about the rinse water from the facility. Idea was whether you could simply regenerate and recirculate it. Treatment could either be separate or with different rinses mixed, you got some from pickling (acid and corresponding Fe salts), alkaline rinses and phosphating (phosphates and nitrates). Steps as I see it would be pH neutralization, precipitation of insoluble salts (eg. by adding CaOH2) and then ion exchange to get rid of any traces and neutral salts like Na, K and Cl. Read yesterday that ion exchange for nitrates as second step is also possible (as I cannot find any way to form insoluble salt with nitrate and precipitate it).
