there's been several recent police shootings that have had some protesters but after the footage shows the nigger nigging, it died down and nothing happened. I would have believed this 5 years ago but today I don't think so.

What caused the civil unrest

Pressure and Heat.

The inability to move about is a huge factor for revolt. If people could just leave, they would. People would spread out, go to low population areas and start communities. The first part of a civil war would involve one side feeling trapped, and at the same time increasing the population of the area.

The second factor is heat. Heat is an external force that escalates the matter. Imagine you have all this racial tension, these feelings of us vs them, and suddenly the power goes out for a week, or a flu pandemic makes it so 50% of the workforce calls in sick. Suddenly there is a run on the grocery stores, the warehouse stores and then the banks close to prevent a run on the banks. All hell would break loose.

That said, there are no dividing line. Left vs. Right civil war will never happen because if you look down the street of Anytown, USA you will find every odd house is a liberal and and every even house is a republican. Both sides are balance by a tune of roughly 2%. So there would have to be a change in political landscape and fluidity in the ability of people to move to a side, meaning people with very little holding them back would be welcomed and facilitated by a side.

The ideal scenario for the beginning of a civil war would be a housing market crash coupled with a natural disaster and a military coup creating nationalist (for military) and rebel groups (Antifa). So very, very unlikely in the next 40 years.

At some point elected officials are replaced/ousted by the unelected bureaucrats running the federal institutions

Those unelected bureaucrats then begin going full totalitarian/dictatorship even worse than they had been before. It'll be so overt and oppressive that there won't be any choice but for civil war. They will want to 'punish' half the country as hard as they possibly can.

The civil war has already started, with the unelected bureaucrats firing on We The People trying to take their liberties away, and We The People firing back by electing Trump. Now the unelected bureaucrats are trying to remove Trump and regain control of elected offices.

If they're successful, things will probably get violent.

Economic collapse type of scenario. Think hyperinflation or currency crisis. Once coons can't cash thier welfare checks, they'll take to the streets and force the government to intervene with force. The more the government tries to stabilize the situation, the stronger the rebellion will be once people exceed a critical level of starvation.

My prediction:
Trump is assassinated after winning in 2020 and Iran is blamed. Used as an excuse to invade Iran which fails horribly and civil war starts.
