Thoughts on conscription?

I feel if the US ever followed the Constitution then we'd have to use conscription since the Constitution says no standing army in times of peace and we can have a peacetime militia. The Swiss model seems to be pretty cool.

>conscripting to fight kike wars halfway across the planet

good idea

Conscripted armies are weaker, more pathetic, and all around shittier.

I'd love that model all over the world to be honest, although times have changed and a militia cannot go up against a standing army.

I doubt a militia will be able to organise strategic bombing runs.

Also for that model you'd have to stop jingoism, which republicans will never agree to, and democrats will never agree to ending the military industrial complex.

Never even said that once and if you actually read a fucking thing like a normal human being you'll see that I said no standing army in times of peace you troglodyte. Go fuck off and watch your cuck porn Sven.

That was my second point about it, also we'd have so much money freed up to use it on other things. Could you give a quick rundown on the Swiss militia model? Do you plan on staying in the military? Also what are the gun laws?

This. Troops are rotated out of the military rather quickly in conscripted armies. This leaves the military with troops and leaders that don’t have hw same amount of training and experience that a standing force has. It would be good for the country (on average, more motivated and disciplined citizens) but bad for the military (less experience and training).

Plus, no one should be forced to join the military, ever. You end up with a lot of people who just don’t want to be there (there are going to be people like this even with a volunteer military, but the number of unmotivated soldiers will be less)

Israel is about to fall apart because they're gonna try and force the orthodox religious jews to join the military.

>It would be good for the country

Not really since you're taking productive people with valuable skill sets out of the economy for months at a time.

>I doubt a militia will be able to organise strategic bombing runs.

Oh, I dunno. We're a plucky bunch. We might not be able to use THIS particular plane (we're too fat) but something like this with a big gulp cup holder and a higher weight capacity would do in a pinch.

Interesting. Mind expanding on this a bit? I haven’t heard anything on that.

started recruit school (RS) this january in a catastrophe-help-mechanic (dont know whats in english). RS is 18 weeks long (21 for elite) where you learn basic soldier training, your function in military and company/battalion exercises. finished in may now doing service until nov. thats an alternate option for some to do military in one chunk and be done with it or finish RS and do 3 weeks each year until you done your days.

But there is no time of peace, the usa is always invading somewhere

>Not really since you're taking productive people with valuable skill sets out of the economy for months at a time.

Conscription would probably be 2 years of service, from ages 18-20. Probably wouldn’t damage the economy. Plus, it can also be said that the economy could actually be better. While the public would not have workers aged 18-20, the public would have people 21+ that are more motivated, healthier, and determined.

FYI, I’m just playing devils advocate here. Just to reitierate, I think conscription is a bad idea overall.

Obviously conscription in war time is bad but what about peacetime? The Constitution says there can be no standing armies in peace time so the only other option is to have the militia (AKA us) train to defend the country. Obviously during war time people should choose if they want to join or not but in peace it should be mandatory for a few years.

>Do you plan on staying in the military?
no thats why i do it in once until november and then never because i have a good job.

Conscription can help keep governments in line and not go full retard in foreign wars. Vietnam was the cause of the ending of the draft, but it was also due to the drafting that people and the political class kept interest to end wars for kikes. Today you have a professional military that does what is told and a public not keeping tabs, and a political class that for the most part does not care.
