First of all, Jow Forums isn't even 15 years old. It was founded in October 2003. So it's close to 15. But it's not 15.

Jow Forums, is new as fuck. It used to be /new/ then /new/ was removed because moot hated the skinheads attracted to /new/ and besides the point of /new/ was to discuss actual news and current events and nobody was doing that they were just citing a bunch of heavily debunked eugenics studies from two+ decades ago.

So moot killed /new/ then he brought it back under the threat that if it became /stormfront/ again he'd delete it again. It did, and so he did, but then people started saturating other boards so he created Jow Forums as an alternative to /new/, and as a containment board.

He called it Jow Forums because he knew that nobody discussing news and current events would do so with any kind of seriousness to it, and besides we don't even really discuss news or current events here (see OP's original post for an example).

From 2003 to about 2010 or so, the board was slightly left leaning and very libertarian. Sure we raided other boards with racist memes (pool's full, etc) but we also raided Scientology, and even skinhead groups.

Most importantly, there was a formidable and impressive pool of IT and marketing talent. That's how we made all the best memes, and did all the best raids. Because we were the best.
