with your permision (and a big excuse to other Krautists) I'll post the anser here the main argument of historical "turnings", as the cycles are called in the book, is the fact that different generations develop different qualities, abilities, quirks and predispositions. e.g. the generation that have fought in a great war would not transmit extreme love for conflict to their sons and daughters, but as time goes by their grandsons would start hearing "heroified" stories and that would predispose them more positively towards war. that is basically the gist, although it involves many more facets, so it's just simplified version. so, using this as a basis authors posit that history goes through cycles and those cycles are happening because of generational shifts, and also causing the differences between the generations. all in all full cycle is made up of 4 "turnings" and is usually between 80 and 95-100 years long. one turning - up to 25 years. we currently are now in the historical winter (the shitshow, when the big kablam habbens) this fourth turning started around 2005 (according to the book) but more likely - 2008-2009 global financial crisis was the start point. by the end of this turning there should be either a great war, or a collapse or something of the like. well, you know :D tribulation, great famine, war, dead walking the earth, cats eating dog food, fire and brimstone and other delights :D in my opinion, it is a must read book, but as always, keep a critical mind and don't lap everything up

me neither... wouldn't surprise me at all. especially knowing his sense of duty and pride and family autoritas yup... that's the big bump. but there's big BUT! the book was written and issued 1997! what they wrote about present time blows your mind. besides, I was always a strong proponent of cyclical history. anyway, it's not exact science, but we can be sure that before 2030 comes a-knocking there will be something that will somehow change the situation we're all in. who knows, maybe kikes will win, maybe there will be global cnflagration, maybe we'll get total SHTF and will continue as cavemen, there's no telling what will happen, but something will happen and I'm pretty sure that time frame goes very well with what we see around us every day. >demographic nuke don't rightly remember any strong argument towards this, but vaguely recall something about "increased migration pressure", just don't hold me to it. true this, the gist of cyclical history. never saw anyone to express arguments that could destroy this.
