Suppose black people are disproportionately committing violent crime. This would be fact. But I don't think that it would be correct to then say "black people by virtue of their genetics are more likely to commit crime, on average". There are other levels of analysis you would need to go through before making that claim. A correlation between race and crime doesn't necessarily imply causation. You would have to look at various social and environmental factors.
The mentality that reason and rationality have no place in this debate is fatalistic. Both sides are firmly entrenched, but a slow progression towards free discourse and understand should still be made. And I am well aware that what I'm spouting is idealistic and I'm probably a hypocrite in many ways.

I don't think it's objective facts which make something is wrong. It's our value system which filters through objective facts to make moral judgements.
Racism sort of has two meanings. On the one hand it's just the belief that one race is superior to another. Its the case that each race will, on average, have differences amongst each other with various traits. So when it comes to a particular trait, you could assert that one race is superior/inferior to another race. I think its a mistake to then say that one race is inherently more valuable because of the traits they have. I find that to be degrading of human life.
On the other hand, Racism can be defined "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior." And as I've described previously, I just think that such a thing is wrong.
Human races are not so different from each other that they can't get along and become unified. That's my view.
