I'm not someone who foolishly believes that just because a couple stays married, that they are happy in that marriage, and I would not call an unhappy marriage "successful" (though some might). But sure, some marriages are happy, successful marriages. And sometimes when you run through fire, you don't burn to death. Some people get lucky.
