He make a name for himself with some of the only level-headed centrist, or perhaps soft center-right commentary during the 2016 election. Some might want to say it wasn't anything special, but he did put his name on the line by making predictions, and not hedging much. I think it's fair to say he earned his audience when his predictions were accurate, especially when there aren't that many public media voices say what he was saying. Sure, he's an amateur, but that only made the opinion staked out even more lonely at the time. It could have gone the other way, and he would have been made a fool of. I think he deserves the audience he has. If everyone had been watching Styx and Scott Adams in 2016, the country would have been saved a lot of heartache.
Nowadays, watching three of his videos at 1.5 speed is a better use of time than looking at cnn.com, or watching any 24-hour news channel to try to get a bead on the basic shit of the day.
