It is essentially a quantitative test of personality, having stripped the rich complexity of human nature and individual characteristics down to the most simplified criteria, which is contradictory to what a true personality is.

So if you want to get value from it, on the level of self-knowledge or essential truths to your nature, then it is useless. It is worse than useless, if said test-taker actually believes this stuff and begins identifying with it. Beginning to identify with a quantitative category means you are heading in the direction of substance rather than essence, which the ancients would called demonic, and I do not disagree in the slightest with their conclusion.

However, from a collective perspective, the test is interesting. When we talk about the masses in the modern world, we are referring to people who are more substance than essence. The masses refers to the added total of people who have so imbibed the modern spirit of quantity that they are in fact quite uniform to the degree that they've stripped themselves of their essential "self-ness". In this regard, we can see that the masses fall quite neatly in one or two categories.

I agree that a simple quiz will necessarily have to strip away some of the unique characteristics of the individual. That's unavoidable, but those unique characteristics are just that, unique. Just because those outlying points aren't recorded doesn't mean a person can't extract useful information from identifying their general types.

It just takes individual critical thinking to know when the shoe fits and when it doesn't. The elite will gain benefit, and the unquestioning plebs will not. That will be true regardless of unique personality traits.

I disagree. Even if every trait described by a type doesn't apply to the individual, there's still useful data to be extracted. Your argument seems to be based around the idea that identifying a category you belong to prevents you from being an individual within that group, or that determining your category means you are forever bound to some set of rules that govern them. When I say that the unique traits are stripped away, I mean solely in a categorical sense. You can't sort based on outlying data points.
