Advancements of the European didn’t come from Christianity, as evident through the Roman Empire which was only christian 363 BC. Then the dark ages came, with the Black Death.

Christianity fought hard against the enlightenment because it represented everything that Christianity was against. The enlightenment represented liberalism or "freedom" in the ancient Greek sense. But what the euroepans failed to understand was that the ancient Greeks saw liberalism as a double edged sword rather than that which would "free people" from religious servitude. To the ancient Greeks liberalism gave birth to individualism (greed) which gave birth to hybris which gave birth to degeneracy which in turn always resulted in death. This is portrayed in the Bible too (the Wages of Sin is death - i.e. you go against nature - you pay). The enlightenment was a pirmitive revolution attempt against the church and its teachings. All proponents of the enlightenment completely misunderstood the ancient Greek philosophers and had only limited access to what they had to say (mainly through the Moors and Baghndad - the Arabs only kept what they could allow to be read and burned everything else).

The nelightement won however and ever since it became mainstream, Europe has been en route to a second decline.

But it didn't fall because of this. It literally fell because there was no unity amongst the Romans. It fell because several generals wanted to become emperors at once, in the middle of a war with other tribes. And by them time Rome fell most tribes in Europe were already Christian anyway. It fell because the Romans became too decadent. They forgot what was important and they thought they could live off the remnants of what greater men before them, had created. They simply became lazy cunts and stopped caring about anything outside of their precisous city centers.
