If you want to talk about native american civilizations, then you should start with Mesoamerican and Andean civilizations

Cahokia collapsed a couple centuries before the Spanish made it into North America proper. Cahokia while permanent wasn't really a city like the way we think of it today. It was a large trading post in effect that didn't have very many permament residents it was at the meeting place of several major rivers which suited the location for this purpose. And various tribes and cultural groups throughout the mdiwest, south and south east of America would travel to Cahokia to trade with other groups. Typically these groups wouldn't stay for longer a few seasons. But then they would move on, while other groups would move in during that time and kind of take their place. Think of Cahokia as more of a really big camp grounds for lots of different people.

Theoretically it could've been completely domesticated like the Dromedary Camel this leaving no wild ones left. The Wild Cavia Porcellus may well be extinct.

Agreed. But if we are going to try to have a somewhat analytical approach to examining the history of the the native peoples of america we should try to use the existing standardized framework we used in examining other cultures. My main point is that Cahokia is probably not really evidence of a civilization, by which I define as a culture which has atleast one large permanent city, where the overwhelming majority of it's population is permanent, the residents share the same language, and also share the same government. If we look at those categories then generally in the Americas the only civilizations were the Aztecs, the Mayans, and the Incas.

I know some people try to add the qualification of a written language, but I'm not certain it is necessary, especially if the culture only has one city.

Why were the south natives Supreme to the north ones? I mean they were all pretty much savages but the south ones had atleast some kind of civilization. If they came from from syberia to Alaska shouldn't the north ones had more time to develop? Or are the Mormons right?

OP if you're interested in native American civilizations look into the Chaco Canyon cultural complex. They've discovered what basically amounts to highways that connected the Aztecs to the American southwest.

Mesa Verde is another site from my state that's worth a look.
