Something about the law not being the regular "privacy" law but a specific one pushed in 2014 specifically to curb "hate speech" in relation to witnesses (the only way to link the two is if you think people speaking about migrant suspects or terrorism is racist and you intend to criminalize that).
The same people that pushed this law were part of the raid on these people. The intention is clear. It's not about privacy, it's about supressing "hate speech" about migrant suspects.
It also says that the German Press Associations have complained how this law is a harsh and vague limitation on freedom of the press, against the constitution and can be applied to most of the things they report on, making it possible to be arrested for just about any article they write.
Hate to burst your bubble but it took like a day for local media and the commentator's to point out he was a negro from Africa. The part about the beheading or almost cutting the child's head of is true they didn't mention that in the public police report but they never do.
