Ive talked to boomers about it though. They won't say anything in public, but if you get to know them like I did (I worked as a barista), they usually feel like they fucked up when they allowed so many immigrants to come here. But they won't actually do anything about it.

USA WOULD take in so many asylum seekers if it werent for Trump. But the problem is this has sharply divided our society; Republicans think its ok while Democrats now think any kind of immigration limiting is extremely immoral and akin to nazism. In Canada I've noticed the divide is not this outrageous. In Canada it seems like many moderates criticize the immigration policy and want it reduced, you wont be called a nazi for it, but in USA there are basically no more moderates at all.
