People don't respond to logic they respond to emotions/feelings. That's why funny memes are so powerful, they trigger an emotional respons and lowers the guard in the limbic system so the message can sneak through.

I agree and I should say people respond more to emotions than logic. Our brains are wired for emotions, it's just how it is. In an ideal world logic would be our common ground but we're far away from that, religion, politics, economy, marketing etc is all about feelings. Science is the only thing that is based on facts and logic - but that has also been taken over by feels in many areas, as you all are well aware of.
