When I talk about incels I more mean people that take part in incel communities. It's arguably inaccurate because the situation you described does fit what incels describe themselves as but I see it as a title they give themselves, and in doing so take part in the community.
It would be more accurate to say "incels that take part in the incel community" are bad people. As I said somewhere else in the thread this may not always be accurate but just like it's safe to say "Jow Forums is racist" despite outliers, it's safe to say "incel communities are hateful".
Essentially what I'm saying is I've bundled "incel" into something separate from "virgin". Incel has the baggage of the tropes of their community, while what you described in your life is just sort of an awkward virgin, who obviously deserve no hate. You don't seem like a bad person.

I did assume people would understand my intended meaning which was my mistake, I wasn't aware the meaning of the word was so up in the air. I've only ever discussed it one time in public, not in front of a computer. Someone at a party brought up incels as disgusting trash people, I responded by saying that while they're often hateful they usually have a mental disorder that caused their circumstance, they're suffering in loneliness, etc. Basically the points I've made in this thread.
To me "incel" does mean my intended use in the OP. We already have words for the literal meaning and it's more useful to let it carry baggage.
