Since the match yesterday I’ve had a lot of people (friends from abroad) ask me why im happy croatia won and a lot of talks what that means for a bulgarian. After all, we are from the balkans but croatia and us have very often fought or stayed apart in a sort of struggle where croatia tries to be west while we try to be ourselves or east.
Regardless, lets have a croatia - bulgaria friendship thread. I’ve pretty much never seen anything bad from croats, there’s much less shit in our history by croats compared to everyone else - while we remember atrocities committed by others, wars with croatia seem clean by comparison. Croats always act a lot more stable towards us than serbs and rarely try to look down upon us. Moreover we share similar views on the balkans nowadays, a similar attitude and friendship seems to be very beneficial right now.
What are your thoughts about Bulgaria croats of Jow Forums?
Inb4 those two serbs with a croatian flag who drunkenly shitpost in balkan threads ruin this one
Your insecurities are showing, like some dumb Highschool kide’
>does John like me? >I hope Stacy likes me >damn I wanna be one of the cool g]kids
Samuel Nguyen
Hello Hungary. Still upset at Trianon I see.
Asher Gutierrez
You misunderstand, there’s very little communication between croats and bulgarians. Plus historically the balkans do resemble a high school, so its pretty natural a question on it sounds like a high school one.
Chase Johnson
Croatia won because Croatia is on the right side of KEK. This is why France will lose. KEK is controlling the World Cup.
Daniel Gutierrez
I watch this guy Pavlin's youtube channel called Motorcycle Adventures. Totally cool
Logan Mitchell
Holy fuck I think I fucking know that guy lel had no idea he had a youtube channel
Thanks, gonna slack off work and watch that
Adrian Richardson
I just don’t think whites should act so insecurely, seeing past the divide and conquer strategies of the past we must secure the existence of our women and children.
>whites Now your insecurities are showing my mongol cousin
Samuel Stewart
VMRO-Ustashe frens
Serbslayers of WW1 and WW2 frens
Jeremiah Wright
Are there any active ustase right now? VMRO still exist but they are pure cancer and corrupt as fuck (literally a corruption scandal going on right now about a woman called Sultanka from VMRO stealing vast amounts of money)
Alexander Fisher
I'm drinking English tears this morning instead of coffee. What a bunch of drunks!
Huge party last night. Dancing in the streets. Everyone had a great time. Laughing at England.
I have a lot of english friends (studied there) and have been sending them memes all day. They are all legitimately mad.
I mean do they have actual, organizational representation? We still hold a yearly fascist march, but our fascism is sadly spread out and oftentimes abused, like how some fucks took over VMRO and used nationalist votes to get into power.
Joshua Roberts
>I mean do they have actual, organizational representation?
Of course they do, but it is low key and not explicit due to being part of EU and NATO. Our Social Science Institute is named after Ustashe ideologue.
Also, Ustashe are not really Fascists, it is a separate ideology.
Nationalist/fascist marches are an idiocy. Working in silence and secret, spreading ideas and gaining traction among masses lowkey is the real deal.
I sort of disagree, seeing the ability to practice it in the open tends to give the idea that the ideology is totally normal and acceptable, which it is and should be. Subterfurge shouldnt be the way for nationalism. I think keeping it quiet and hidden simply destroys the foundation of the things you are trying to preach. Pride in the nation, while keeping it a secret?
You mean in this thread?
Eli Foster
>I sort of disagree, seeing the ability to practice it in the open tends to give the idea that the ideology is totally normal and acceptable
We do practice it in open. It just got rebranded. Drop the salutes, black and brown uniforms, insignia tying you to WW2 Nazis, and you are good to go. We even managed to avoid criminalising the salute and insignia, KEK.
> I think keeping it quiet and hidden simply destroys the foundation of the things you are trying to preach. Pride in the nation, while keeping it a secret?
Imagine taking core tennets of ultranationalist ideology and slowly introducing them to mainstream, rebranding them as mainstream?
Ethan Hernandez
You look like a big belly boy
Adrian Mitchell
I dont think slow introduction is necessaey or what we have in front of us. Most of our nation (and i know croatia too) already subscribe to these ideas. The normalization of their practice should be what we seek, rarher than their reintroduction.
James Reed
As long as we've got a lot of slavs here, can someone explain to me the significance of sending someone's teeth home in a separate container from his body? I've been bamboozled for like a year about this Serb's fucking bloodthirsty response to Chris Evans.
Also I assume he meant they’d curbstomp him to death.
Mason Martin
But is ALREADY is normalised, here. We are religiously homogenous, minorities rapidly assimilate (except Gypsies, who are undesired), even our leftists and liberals hate Serbs (due to perceived primitivism of Serbs and "serbs destroyed Yugoslavia" meme), we have huge patriotic fervor and celebrate statehood each year on several holidays.
We won't introduce national socialism because that is not our ideology.
Jaxon Cruz
It's a LARPer. No actual Serb nationalist/fascist would use Twitter, call himself "Jack" or Grigori Bittenfield. Real Serb nationalists would kick the shit out of him.
Evan Thomas
You have no borders with Croatia and no conflicting territorial claims. So it is natural you did not clash. But if you had, I doubt Ustasha would find Bulgarians acceptable as neighbors.
I always regarded Bulgarians culturally closer to Serbs on a local level. And to Russians of course, Protobulgarians, 1878, Cyril, Methodi, same hobbies like drinking and fishing...HAHA Everybody speaks fondly about Russians in Bulgaria. About Serbs it's another issue, but as said, from an outsiders perspective I see more links than with Croatians. Just the culture, music, the general tone and family values.
Not trying to put a thorn into your friendship, but what is the common denominator with both of you?
Ryan Barnes
We fought and obliterated Serbs through at various times in history, and are more successful than Serbs. We are Balkan Slavs, in EU and NATO, fought for Central Powers and Axis, fought to destroy Yugoslavia.
Juan Torres
I approve national socialism only insofar as a strong state = less freedom to abuse. Democracy tends to be take too far in our country and while I deeply believe in it, I dont think it should be completely absolute. That said, socialism also really isnt the way to go. Smaller state is.
Anyway yeh, nationalism is alive and all, but both your country and ours have a history and present tendency to get caught up in sucking up to/trying to be like the west. Which is why when I talk about nationalism, fascism and so on I mean also our own ideals and not other people’s.
Jason Mitchell
This is true Croats have more similarity with Hungary and Austria in the Northern parts, Italy and Greece on the coastline and their islands
Christopher Johnson
>Grigori Bittenfield >Twitter okay then
Anyway, I'm here now. Lets get this shitshow on the road Balkan scum.
>We need a fascist Serbia ASAP You are not ready for this, believe me
Jayden Barnes
>your country and ours have a history and present tendency to get caught up in sucking up to/trying to be like the west
We like the West, we like Catholic Church, we like Germans, and we are historic allies. Nowadays, we also like Americans.
The catch is that we like them due to foreign policy, common interests, not due to their lifestyle and propaganda. Croatia will never be xenophillic, degenerate.
Serbs, all the time in history, were pro-Slavic in their own opinion Other nations as Croatia or Bosnia remember them as opressors and genocidal meniacs, but they see themselves as liberators of Southern Slavs and as bigger patron Can you imagine how bad it will be if they become actually fascistic and try to murder and genocide ? Not as accident, but due to full purpose
Elijah Gutierrez
>Can you imagine how bad it will be if they become actually fascistic and try to murder and genocide Well we are overdue for some tit for tat ethnic cleansing. It's been 20 years since the last one ended.
Henry Russell
We have clashed a lot, we fought croats in medieval times. Its the reason we rarely expanded west. It was just never as bloody or horrifying as our other wars, really.
And you are just plain wrong, since bulgaria at the time of the ustase was an outright ally. We were a nationalist, almost fascist country of the axis.
Our similarities in culture with serbs and russians is for the most part communist propaganda and shit acquired during socialism. In reality we have more in common with greeks than with serbs. Throughout history we fought with serbs but were kept separate, while we often exchanged territories with the byzantines and they integrated easily. For russians, you’ve only spoken to some. Many people love them, many people hate them, many young people have begun forming an objective, neutral view. It largely depends where you go - northwest and some other places tend to be massively more pro-serb and pro-russian since those places have slavic ancestry much more than the south.
On the culture thats mostly false. Our traditions and cultures are rarely shared with serbia. Music has only developed similarly the last several years, our traditional, national music is again, closer to greek than serb. General tone and family values are orthodox, of course, but we have very different views - a big example is how communism tried to push an idea of the woman being a lesser being/subservient to the man, but we have a large history of women fighting alongside men and so on, which is still preserved. Even if somewhat damaged.
>but what is the common denominator with both of you Despite not having much relations, technically bulgaria and croatia are incredibly similar. Both nations still retain an indigenous balkan element and havent been completely slav’d. Both of us subscribed to nationalism, then socialism similarly. Both fought for independence, both pursued a path west. We were both kingdoms in medieval times, with similar ideals.
Adam Adams
It’s only the first step in cleaning the mess the USA left. Once Serbian people have adopted the true lifestyle then the balkans will be at peace
Andrew Powell
I like driving around in vacation so I traveled a bit throughout Balkans (not a Turk, I know they pass through only). I went with parents often to Split, made trips to Bosnia for shopping, Hungary-Balaton, then the Golden Coast cheap flights. And then trips with my car and gf to Balkans twice already. Once we went through Romania to Bulgaria and second time through Serbia. 2nd was better. I like all of you countries. Bosnia is fine too, Montenegro I still must visit! But Serbia stuck me as well, how relatively fine they cope without the EU gibs. Romania I will not understand. Worst shitholes on my trips where in Romania. There are places that are fine and then you got totally desolated areas.
Well, to say something nice about both of you: Croatia is just fine. It's like a cheaper Italy with prettier girls
Joshua Price
Keep in mind that the average IQ in the Balkans in 90, and that's on the high end. On the islands it's even less due to generations of inbreeding. Don't expect much from this place.
Hudson Hall
Give me proof that Macedonians are Larping Bublgarians. I’m half Serb half Macedonian. But my mothers side(Macedonian) are literally all blonde haired and blue eyed. It makes no fucking sense.
Yeah you're right about the Greeks - forgot about them. Food is very similar and there are a lot of Greek tourists at the Monasteries I remember.
Elijah Fisher
>golden coast >plovdiv Yeh, you’d likely find a lot of pro-slavic, pro-russian people there.
If we separated by regions I wager that’d change a lot. Like we are pften termed like 92 but I guarantee northwest is 80ish and central-ish is higher.
Jaxson Gonzalez
It's a country created in the 1960s with a fabricated history with the goal of destabilizing the region and thus making it easier for the Russians to control and influence it.
Benjamin Watson
Plovdiv is rather anti- russian desu Sofia the most though. Varna is the worst.
Elijah Reed
>and thus making it easier for the Russians to control and influence it. False, Macedonia was a british fabrication. This is documented and readily available. The intent is different.
Chase Nelson
Sauce me, boi
Juan Powell
>Russians >influencing SFRJ >Russians >in 1960
Oh boy. You are ignorant to the extreme. Read on Kennan doctrine and about Churchill's son being liaison to Yugocommunists.
Mason Sanders
Russian oil is the blood that makes Varna thrive. Shit city indeed. Full of newly rich parvenus. Plovdiv is really nice though.
I'd consider living there as a digital nomad after study. Seriously. I know a Slavic language and Bulgarian a bit. I prefer mountains to the sea and it's best for the buck.
Angel Johnson
You find pro-Russia people where Russian money is. In Varna they have this gas/petrol thing going on and they get under the table discounts, also Russian tourists spending cash and the richer Russians buying houses and apartments so they can launder some money. Very few people are genuinely pro-Russia and it has to do with religion. The majority is just "I like Russia because I get paid", directly (some smaller media projects and a particular political party) or indirectly (businesses dependent on petrol and tourism).
Charles Green
You're cool, no one has anything against you.
Asher Butler
Plovdiv still has a fucking shitload of hardcore pro-russians. Its probably the most polarized, in that you do find a lot of anti-russian but also a lot of pro-russians.
Sofia you cant really determine, cause “sofianci” are from fucking everywhere anyway.
Hunter Torres
That won't end well. You can already see the toxic influence spreading. Yeah Plovdiv is pretty comfy, can feel a bit small at times though but Sofia is a 130 min drive so its fine. I would be set if you are working in programming or anything in that field. Alright, will do. My judgement could be clouded by disdain for communists.
Ayden Garcia
At work, cant dig enough. There is a shitload of british foreign documents readily available. Or just check how much of an interest britain has in macedonia - institutes, professors, politicians whose task it is, departments. All that for a tiny country with no history? We all know how the british foreign affairs work.
Its fun to dig for though.
Caleb Lopez
Thanks, Croatbro. How do you feel about Dubrovnik being developer as a tourist trap? I remember going there over a decade ago, and there were people, but you could still move and take photos and just chill and take in the view. Then I went again last year and it was just masses of people, the warmth of human bodies was making it unbearable, constant noise, can't take a picture, can't sit in one spot and look around. Sadly my local hiking spot, the seven Rila lakes, suffered the same fate. It went from several small groups greeting each other as they pass on the trail to a complete line, queues, literally being able to smell the piss in the bushes because hundreds of people took a leak there on that day. Tourists are ruining tourism, I hate it.
Nolan Martin
It's becoming the same in Plovdiv, a lot of people are moving in from Pazardjik, Haskovo and all over the region. Yeah there is plenty of pro- russian people but it depends with the type of people you generally communicate.
Charles Carter
The emotional attachment is always stupid. I can actually appreciate the sentiment coming from interest at least. Sadly many people will tend to attach emotion to justify it.
Ian Howard

stop spamming those autistic "senpai notice my country pls" threads
Aaron Baker
Too many people in Dubrovnik imo, it was not built to be able to whitstand so much people. But croats are greedy so no one cares. Yes, too many tourists coming to such a small country. Tbh, I don't even go to the seaside, I prefer the hills and mountains. Try visiting the mountainous region of Croatia, it's nice and cool, not many people around and great food. Go fishing, go hunting, drink local rakija and have a good time. Dalmatia is overrated.

I met a bulgarian dude when i was working abroad. Totally cool guy. I also game on a regular basis with a bulgarian. People only hate each other on this shitstorm that is Jow Forums. In real life you realise most people are friendly.
I dont think ive seen croat-bulgar hate even here, thats why I made this thread, theres actually very little interaction in general.
Except those few self-admitted serbs living in croatia.
Tyler Ramirez
>its the butthurt serb again
In every thread.
Gabriel Cox
woudnt say butthurt, im stiring shit up these "clean" threads are not in balkanic spirit where the fuck did you hide that flavour step up, this is boring
Serbs cant backstab anyone if both their neighbors are looking at them, its a dangerous situation to the serb. What will he do all day?
Zachary Sanchez
>these "clean" threads are not in balkanic spirit We dont want your serb drama and depression, us and the croats want to live i peace and progress (not liberal progress of course.
Go make a bosnia/albania/serbia/kosovo/macedonia thread if you want drama.
Jacob Clark
>tatar >talking about backstabbing

>You speak a language which until Tito came in was considered a Bulgarian dialect >Tito made your nation to remove Bulgarian influence in the area and for future claims on the Aegean sea. >Your area was controlled by Bulgaria for centuries. >Your revolutionaries where literally fighting for the independence of Bulgaria >The "Macedonians" of Greece claim to be Bulgarian. They speak Bulgarian and don't use serbian words unlike you Do you want more proof

How brown is your skin?

Its funny how nowadays the sanstefano parts of greece are being bought out by bulgarians en masse. You go to one of those towns there’s always a huge mass of bulgarian houses and apartments.
Connor Ward
what do you prefer muslim albanians or otthodox slavs, greeks, romanians?
Thomas Fisher
Just because you’ve seen some northwestern bulgarians, who are serb by ancestry, cause drama and depression doesnt mean we all do.
Ayden Butler
there you go, you see its not hard
Jace Scott
All slavic peoples are brothers. Ws fight, we make peace, we drink, we fight again. The slav life is forever.
