Consider as an example in the 80's, before the euro, the very cheapest Mercedes with shitty cloth seats and a wheezing diesel engine was £62,000 in real terms. It's modern equivalent in 2018 is £23,000. The power of currency devaluation (at the expense of the rest of europe, but they get gibs to compensate for the most part)
