what i find weird is this same dna sample analyzed on dna.land reports ~25% southwestern european
i suppose it could just be normal french, but this shows genetic markers for basque (which could be considered spanish or french equally)
also it reports a big old chunk of slavic which i dont know how to feel about. it seems to be baltic and eastern finnish if i had to guess.

I've only done the autosomal test through Ancestry so far. However, using that data and the MorleyDNA predictor tool, my most likely Y haplogroup is listed as R1b1a2a1a2a1b3.
I haven't found a tool that can make an educated guess at my mtDNA from Ancestry's results.

gedmatch gives a pretty interesting breakdown, im not sure how to interpret the population approximations. im under the assumption that the value presented is how closely my genome matches the specified population, but im not sure.
but the results definitely seem to reinforce that im about 25% spanish/south french (very possibly basque in particular), 15% - 20% baltic and/or finnish, and the rest is mostly general northwest european. i need to get to work breaking that part down more, but i know i definitely have a bit of irish and possibly norwegian.

Yes, basically GEDmatch depicts similarities on your genome with those populations. You ll see different results depending the calculator. The lower picts you see similar to amerindians, etc, means that there are tiny minor similarities going back in paleolithic times. Thats why they call them noise, and its "junk" information.

I have done multiple services. the broadly is to ensure you aren't given wrong regions like AncestryDNA does.
but my ancestry dna isn't that accurate considering i know i have zero norweigian within 4 generations which would be about 7% and i know for a fact i had a native american ancestor. I also know a large portion of my ancestors came from central europe (both germany and switzerland which didn't show up for ancestryDNA.
at least it got my appalachian.
