The Jowett edition is just fine. He was a big fan of Plato. As for Aristotle, I have not seen him demonized in any of the Oxford or Penguin Classics editions, though I myself disagree with him on many things.

Learn Plato's theory of forms first. It is pretty much the prequel to idealism.
