Hinduism is the oldest organized religion in the world. It is the Sanatana Dharma, the Eternal Law.It has no known origin and no founders - it is a synthesis of various Indian cultures and practices from as early as 4000 BCE.
Hinduism differs from Christianity and other Abrahamic religions in that it does not have:
>A single founder, >A specific theological system, >A single concept of deity, >A single holy text, >A single system of morality, >A central religious authority, >The concept of a prophet.
Hinduism is neither polytheistic, monotheistic, trinitarian or henotheistic, yet it is all at the same time.
The development of Hinduism was influenced by many invasions over thousands of years. The major influences occurred when light-skinned, nomadic "Aryan" Indo-European tribes invaded Northern India (circa 1500 BCE) from the steppes of Russia and Central Asia. They brought with them their religion of Vedism. These beliefs mingled with the more advanced, indigenous Indian native beliefs, often called the "Indus valley culture."
>Rulers will become unreasonable: they will levy taxes unfairly. >Rulers will no longer see it as their duty to promote spirituality, or to protect their subjects: they will become a danger to the world. >People will start migrating, seeking countries where wheat and barley form the staple food source. >At the end of Kali-yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so-called saints and respectable gentlemen of the three higher varnas [temperament] and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser.
Kali Yuga with regard to human relationships
>Avarice and wrath will be common. Humans will openly display animosity towards each other. Ignorance of dharma will occur. >People will have thoughts of murder with no justification and will see nothing wrong in that. >Lust will be viewed as socially acceptable and sexual intercourse will be seen as the central requirement of life. >Sin will increase exponentially, while virtue will fade and cease to flourish. >People will take vows and break them soon after. >People will become addicted to intoxicating drinks and drugs. >Teachers will no longer be respected and their students will attempt to injure them. Their teachings will be insulted, and followers of Kama(lust) will wrest control of the mind from all human beings.
Dude, stop this, modernised white people "Hinduism" is pure joke, it's rather lifestyle related than religion. Stop making this thread no one cares about Indian paganism.
Caleb Bell
This thread does not aim to target Hinduism at Hwhite people it's more to discuss the political significance of Hinduism as we're the only living testament of the past. >life style than a religion That's a concept forced on us by abhramics it's a religion the roaman definition of religion isn't absolute >no one cares Then don't reply this isn't plebbit this is a Chan if people care they'll reply or else the thread will die
>that video This, this is exactly what I hate with Indians, every single time you blame the British or the foreigners. Look at Japan, they got nuked twice and yet they prospered within a decade.
And as for the Indian mind, I'm afraid Hinduism might not get us anywhere, it's a versatile religion. Yes, India was once a superpower but it was only under mughals (I ain't no Muslim).
Why don't you try reading West/East (not oriental) philosophy ? Like, reading Dostoyvesky, Augustine of Hippo and Plato ?
I appreciate your knowledge on Hinduism, I barely have any knowledge about it but yeah it's not bad to read western literature. *shrugs*
>didn't watch the video >thinks it blames Britishers >india was only a super power under the mughals I'm well read on western philosophers they come no where close to what hindu darshan discusses but you seem to be to full of yourself to consider it real, as a western philosopher once said you need to accept you know nothing to gain knowledge
Yes, aristotle said it. Where tf do I learn hindusism from, everyone tells a different story about the same god and there's like a million variants, pls help.
Mythology is an essential part of the religion but that isn't where you learn philosophy from, the variation in story depicts the pluralirty of thought Hinduism accepts, if you've read absolutely nothing i would suggest starting with the Geeta and moving on to the Upanishads then just look up hindu darshan on search and see which school appeals to you and read about that school, also dayanand saraswati satyarth prakash and his forward to the Vedas are a must read for every hindu
Oldest SURVIVING religion - but only if you factor in the Vedas as being Hinduism (they're not). True Hinduism is only a few years older than Buddhism. Also - if Hinduism caused India, I'm no fan.

don't speak hindi

fuck off you cow piss drinking fuck. no one cares about you shitty larp religion
Thing is, HPL was basically his time period's equivalent of an r9k incel, don't get me wrong, I dig his books. . . . I just think Robert E. Howard was a better author, and a better thinker in basically every way, and not just because he had a degree of respect for other cultures, and even a sort of reverence for "Barbarism".
Kayden Gray
Allow me to BTFO your dumb religion for a moment;
>Hinduism is the oldest organized religion in the world >It is the Sanatana Dharma, the Eternal Law >The development of Hinduism was influenced by many invasions over thousands of years
So essentially >the oldest religion in the world was formed by countless invading cultural forces but it's eternal
Please delete your thread, I promise I won't hold it against you.
Technically, 's more accurate to describe it as a family of syncretic faiths.
Say, like how Christianity is a fish, Hinduism is a whole reef ecosystem.
Anyway, in the end, all religions are just rehashes of ideas from disparate sources, Christianity is just a Judaeo-Manichean resurrection cult that appropriates pagan festivals and Zoroastrian imagery.
Oliver White
Kek, the Eternal truth is realised by dumb men not given to them
Shill me on drinking cow pee. Does it make you trip balls?

We don't "hate" India. We just find them repulsive and not even worth our arguing time.
Imagine Jow Forums is a big family in a gathering. America is the fat, dumb brother who is always on facebook. UK is the weak, fragile uncle who is single in his 50's who complains about everything and keeps bitching about he used to be a great car salesman in his 20's. Canada is the ugly, disgusting, trashy aunt who hits on everyone and who believes in her sick and old mind that she is still attractive. Poland is the grandpa who collects guns. Brazil is the family monkey who jumps around the house, shitting in corners and just grabbing food and running away. Peru is like the little autistic brother who is in a corner playing minecraft on a tablet and all he can talk about is Dota even though he is 1k And India... India is like the retarded cousin you never want to meet and who embarrasses you always. India shits on the dinner table, India is loud and can barely speak your language, India keeps saying memes from 2001, India smells like shit but he can't smell it because he is used to it. India has $22 in his pocket and he calls you poor. Thats India. We don't hate our retarded cousin. We are just ashamed of him and killing it or punching it would make us look like monsters even though we all know it would be for the best of everyone.
We'll discuss that some other day I already have a lot of cut dicks to deal in this thread if i start explaining how cow /raindeer piss can make you trip balls they'll take me even less seriously
Jacob Gonzalez
There are people in Hollywood who've been drinking piss for years.
And of course, because there is no orthodoxy in hinduism as a whole, you can't make the claim that all or even most Hindus do this.
No they can't. Indians are born betas, vegan and manlets. That's what you get for worshipping protien steaks. Literallt everyone (read: white people) that rat indian shit for thr first time get the shits. All the meat was influenced by invading muslim forces which manlet poos pander as their "own" truly the most subhuman place on earth,
Eh, slight misnomer there, Shinto's roots are in the folk religions of Yayoi era Japan, Buddhism was introduced by way of China later on and the practices mutually influenced each other.
Japs don't really consider Shinto to be a religion as such, just as an innate part of being Japanese, and you find many Japs who profess other faiths will still make offerings at Shinto shrines because it's culturally important to them in a way that some consider more fundamental than religion.
They did however totally bum off Buddhism for years and there's no getting round that, though they banned it for a period in the 1800's and made Shinto the "State religion"
Joshua Long
Shinto worship a lot of Hindu gods under different names
Nah nah, Shinto shrines tend to be to local tutelary spirits and national mythological characters like Izanami and Izanagi, or Amaterasu No Omikami.
But their local buddhist temples have shinto influences and most certainly do have shrines to entities that are regional variants of Vedic entities like Kartikeya, Yama and the like.
>it's culturally important to them in a way that some consider more fundamental than religion Hinduism is also not a religion because it's more fundamental than religion.
Isaac Fisher
Kek I was sure goddesses saraswati was worshiped in one of the shinto temples i visited i could be wrong though

There are ostensibly Christian communities in the Caucasus who go to church, but also sacrifice deer and horses to local powers up in the mountains.
Faith and culture interact in ways that sometimes make the two hard to separate.
Like an Englishman might shout "Jesus Christ!" when surprised even if he's secular.
Jonathan Bell
Your’re quite delusional if you think only Muslims hate your poo infested shithole, pajeet.
Apparently Benzaiten/Saravasti straddles the divide between Shinto and Buddhist worship in Japan, good example of that syncreticism.
Didn't know 'bout 'er before.

like Yahweh was culturally worshiped is middle east a Bull headed god but many take that god and mix with the cultural Mithra worship or other pagan rituals like baptism to create a new religion with thinks the only devil has horns.so yes culture can change a religion and vice-versa
