Walmart got in trouble for locking up their "ethnic" products in certain (urban) stores. the thing is, Walmart is notoriously cheap and the don't do anything without looking at the metrics. meaning they were absolutely economically justified in their decision.

those can clearly be torn of the holder seeing as the packaging is paper. that security measure does absolutely nothing and this image was staged.

I remember that, and I remember trying to explain to my liberal acquaintances how and why it worked, and it wasn't that Walmart gave a fuck about race, it was a matter of raw numbers and how things work from a business perspective (ie, electronics and cigarettes are hot shop lifting items if not locked up, which is why they almost always are).

Their response was more or less that avoiding the risk of possibly offending anyone was worth the price of letting your shit get stolen.

Looking more closely at it I'm thinking it's bullshit too. If you look at the makeup on the left, the lighter tone, whatever is behind it is not the same product, as if it were taken from somewhere else and hung there specifically for this picture. Notice how it's also further out to the front, as if it's hanging in front of another one of those red security devices.

My guess is that some virtue signalling tumblrina asked an associate for that, then went back, hung it on there, and took the picture so she could "call out" a fake bullshit example of (((racism))). I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who tore the one on the right too.
