FN America makes and sells the guns in the US and they are an American subsidiary. They sell a semi-auto civilian version of almost everything, even the fucking M249. So they are definitely comfortable with selling to civilians.
They do have their own "restrictions" on ammunition, which aren't legally binding. So for whatever reason they don't want to supply civilians with certain stuff like the SS198 5.7x28mm.
Their stuff is plastic (but high quality) and cheap to manufacture so they make a lot of money here.
I don't see Eurostan laws affecting their business here any time soon. The only point of concern is that Herstal Group (which also owns Browning) is owned by Wallonia, a province in Belgium. Though clearly they have corporate officers who decide what to do with the US companies. I would bet if some dumbass law started wrecking their profits they would find a way to become a separate legal entity.
