Israel will never do the right thing so the rest of the world needs to force them to give the palestinians a decent chunk of land connecting the gaza strip and the west bank. Once that clearly defined land for Palestine is in place then israel is free to set up large walls to defend their territory. That way everybody is happy.

Assuming the Muslim and Jewish populations would be roughly equal in population at the outset, of one side ever gains a demographic advantage and that cascades, then sectarian conflict is inevitable because whatever side is falling behind in population is going to feel discriminated against.
