How do we bring back flowery language and the popularity of literature?
Rejection of "flowery" language is an anti intellectual thing, which is endemic in post-modernism. We're all trying to figure out, exactly, how to get the zeitgeist to shift from one period to the next.
Baroque ended when Bach died, this was acceptable because he pushed its overton window and then left. It became offensive not to move on. Classical ended when Beethoven released Eroica (or when Mozart released mass in D minor), from then on all art, music and literature required a soul, which was acceptable because Classical itself was unrewarding, a thankless movement. Romanticism ended when Schoenberg began atonalism, after all what's art which doesn't push boundaries? A kitsch nod to an irrelevant past!
But then post-modernism came, fuelled by the ugly pretentiousness of the modernist age and perpetuated by the laziness of young people who enjoy simplistic pop music, how will this end? Post modernism has no finish, there is no equivalent of Bach because it rejects hierarchy. Any attempt at writing a contemporary Eroica will fail because (((they'll))) just hide your work through throttling or art school/competition rejection. Our last option is to argue post modernism is bankrupt, but that doesn't work either because we're white mansplainers if we try.
We basically need a trans Muslim degenerate who writes in a strictly neo renaissance style regardless of their alternative lifestyle who justifies it basically by, well it just feels nicer. These goal posts are adversaries have given us are unlikely.
In college I didn't like reading older books because the sentences were so long and complex.
Today, either I am smarter or I read more slowly and carefully. Now I like older books because the long sentences are small masterpieces.
is this flowery enough for you?
Easy... kill off the bottom 85% of the population
If you love flowery language so much, why didn't you type with flowery language to open this thread?
But what about diversity?
45 MILLION people is well fucking diverse.
The anonymous poster Nc70ezX6 puts forth an eloquently pointed argument in his post in which he makes the assertion that if language of the flowery variety is indeed to be admired and celebrated, then it is in fact peculiar that the original posted did not phrase his post to reflect such a notion and in doing so demonstrate the superior nature of flowery language. We all become faggots and start dressing like women?
