Today I went to a coffee shop to work on my laptop. I'm in a relatively conservative state where open carrying is legal, so I always walk around with a revolver on my hip.
I'm sitting there drinking my coffee with my girlfriend, and some obese chick who works there is standing 3 feet away from me. She loudly says to her friend "people who open carry are stupid, why would anyone do this?"
I stare at her for a second and ask her if she was referring to me, and that I just wanted to have a coffee, not to get harassed.
She turns it around on me and completely freaks out. Starts screaming at me that she's calling the cops "for me harassing her" (???). She backs down after I ask her why she'd call the cops, then says she's calling the owner instead. I tell her she can call whoever she wants, and she runs into the back and starts dialing her phone. Note I didn't even stand up from my chair the entire time she was in the room, but later on I'm told she "feels threatened" (yeah okay).
The manager is some clownishly tattooed up guy with gauges, and he's refusing to have her come out and apologize to me. At this point I care less about the fact that she insulted me, and more about the fact that she threatened to call the fucking cops on me (something that could have been pretty dangerous, considering the circumstances).
Obviously I'm not going back to this place - didn't realize it was some commie hangout. Still, how messed up is this? How much do you want to bet that these fruitcakes were listening to Maxine Waters tell them to harass conservatives?

I sued someone in town for a lot of money and won. He and his family are completely insane and one of his employees threatened to kill me. I like to make it known that I'm packing so that these people know they're going to get bullets flying back at them if they decide to make good on their threats.

The legality of open carry 100% depends on your state and sometimes local laws. My suggestion before trying it is to call your local city police AND the local sheriff and ask them if there are any caveats to open carrying. You might also call a local gun shop - those guys tend to know the local laws extremely well.
The laws verge on stupid sometimes. There are places where it's legal to open carry, but if someone calls and says they're alarmed, you can go to jail for "creating a disturbance." There are places where you need a concealed carry permit to open carry. Do your homework. Don't go to jail for exercising your second amendment rights, even if the local laws are bullshit.
Also, #1 rule is if you're on private property, you need to watch for signs. If one is posted that says no guns, don't enter with a gun. Malls almost always have these posted signs. If the people who run that property ask you to leave, you have to leave. Personally I think this roughly the same or worse as saying "no blacks allowed in my store," but unfortunately it is the law.
Don't enter any federal buildings. Courthouses, post offices, etc. Don't enter any banks, depending on local laws.
Use a holster. Don't be a retard that shoves a gun in your pocket. Don't get intoxicated. Some states prohibit having a gun while intoxicated.
That's about it off the top of my head, but again: do your homework and stay legal.
