To give context, my mother is French (of origin and nationality, not a 2nd wave migrant or that kind of shit) and she met my father when he came in France to finish his doctorat.
He was a smart man and my mother fell in love with him blah blah blah. He was Syrian (I said was because he's dead now).
Basically, I lived a good part of my life in Syria. I'm completely honest when I say that the Arabs there were very educated and polite. There was absolutely no animosity against Christians who lived in the center of Doumar or Damascus (I lived in Damascus and went to school in Doumar). Sure it was a dictatorship and you shouldn't speak too loudly against Bachar or his father, but all around the streets were clean (cleaner then Paris, not that that's hard) and everyone was well fed. I never saw anyone complain about how the country was managed, even if some internet freedoms were very restricted.
I left Syria in late 2011 due to the war (I was still a kid back then) and went to Egypt, then Tunisia, Lebanon and finally Oman (I kept moving from places to places because my Uncle who was taking care of me was an engineer supervisor for an oil company). And I noticed one thing throughout my travels, it's that none of these Arabic countries have identical cultures or people.
Oman was EXTREMELY CLEAN, like Singapore level of clean, and people there were honest and tolerant towards other religions.
Lebanon was almost like a European country, malls every where and New York style Skyscrapers. Food was awesome, and everyone spoke French and English there.
Tunisians were a bit like what you think off when I say the word: Sandniggers. It was a shithole, extremely hot as well. But nice beaches.
Egypt was the worst. The people there were excessively prideful, aggressive and violent. I was around rich kids as well, so don't let anyone tell you that they're like that because they have money issues or are poor. They were very dishonest, and tried to trick foreigners->
