I don't even need to watch the video to know it has an idiotic definition for "defensive gun use".

And I can personally attest to this. I've brandished a firearm more times than I can count on my hands and I've never had to fire. I've also never fired a police report because it's not worth my time filing a police report. There have also been 3 times when I have filed a police report, but never brandished, and had the situation escalated, I may have fired shots. 2 people are still in prison.

I work in a very dangerous profession. But, even then there's been 2 instances in my own personal life where I've had to use a firearm defensively. I've still never fired a shot.

You can see these same statistics in police encounters across the nation. They brandish their firearms routinely yet a very small minute percentage ever have to fire a round in their career.

This is why defensive firearm statistics are bullshit. The mere presence of a firearm in such situations is deterrent enough to keep things from escalating.

It's not a statistic you can even attempt to put on paper. Think about this.. I'm open carrying and some guy who would have assaulted, robbed, or burglarized me doesn't, thinks twice and takes his happy ass home. That's a win for a defensive use of a firearm. It will never be a statistic.
