UBI is logical, as machines carry out more and more of the simpleton jobs out there, that is essentially increasing production and GDP without paying a salary outside of the electricity needed and cost of machinery. If you do that over wide sections of the economy, either you institute UBI to reflect this new dynamic or billions of dollars will be unused in profit and will go into paying board of directors and CEOs more millions annually. UBI is the moral thing but Sheckelbergs are not going to let you take their unearned money out of their wallets that easy.
