No, that was the failure of our last period of non-aligned non-interventionism. Through "compromise" with the interventionists we were dragged into WWI and WWII and we're expected to make the same mistake a third time? We need a set law on how we begin wars, they should only be defensive through a direct and purposeful attack on our military or civilians on our land, territorial waters, or in ships flying our flag. We should have an amendment to the constitution for automatic reciprocal trade tariffs with every country who tariffs us along with a base tariff and be banned from making alliances with other countries during peacetime and continuing those alliances out of wartime. If our rules are not set we'll be bound to make compromises, and through those compromises, such as the lend-lease program or banning warring nations from trading with us, we enter wars.

It was, in WWI, for example, we kept sending the Brits weapons and supplies when we promised not to, naturally, Germany got butthurt over this and decided to ask Mexico to attack us, we intercepted the message and attacked the Central Powers.
For WWII the reason why we were attacked by Japan and Germany was because of our embargo and support of Britain through the lend-lease plan.
Call it whatever you want, but we need an autarkic Republic which has no alliances or pacts with foreign nations except pacts of non-aggression.

It is a return to the American School of Economics, it can only really work when it is fully implemented, especially tariffs. High tariffs are suppose to be alongside zero corporate tax and zero sales tax to keep prices down and make it cheap to run a business. They're just doing the tariff part, albeit corporate tax was reduced by 30% under Trump and 5-6 states repealed sales tax.
