Do you think it affected your growth/maturation at all? I had a friend like 7-8 years ago who lost his father and then his mother turned lesbian and got married. He was a really nice guy and it looked like we were going to be lifelong best friends, but out of the blue he started exhibiting very jealous behavior when I met his friends like I was trying to steal them from him, and generally started acting like he had a bunch of screws loose. I haven't talked to him in a couple years now, my first reaction was to be angry but now I just feel sad for him. He had no father figure after like the age of 6, and that lack of guidance (in my view) fucked him up.
