That's what I can't shake. I can't not think about what they would do if they were in power and had things their way. If it were up to them, my taxes would be raised to find their bullshit social programs, my right to self defense would be taken away, I'd be actively discriminated against in the workforce because of the color of my skin (all the while being called "privileged"), my bloodline erased, and the land that my ancestors built would be no more. I just don't think I can be friends with people like that. It goes way beyond being just a political disagreement.

I guess it's freeing though. It's clarifying to really know what kind of people I really want around me in life. Sucks to know there's barely anyone else around here like that.

Yeah I went to UC Berkeley. Plus some of my fwb's are pretty liberal. Politics has never really been a big deal. We've argued more about stupider shit politics desu.

Most of my mates are either slightly right of centre right, or complete irl shitposters you dont really care either way. A few who are self described centrists still like having a laugh, but sortafreak out when I go on the occasional rant. This is usually after a few too many grogs and someone breaks out a bag of rack.
