Chief executive Andrew Evans said: “We recognised there was a need within the UK with people struggling to access NHS care.
“I have heard dentists saying it is worse than at one of our projects in Malawi. The state of oral health [in the UK] has been a big surprise."
"Dental hygiene in the UK is at a critical level, with over 1 in 5 reporting multiple missing teeth due to decay"
“They are struggling to eat because they are in so much pain.
“Not only is rotten teeth the number one medical reason for any child being admitted to hospital, but Third World-based dental charities are looking to come here as our inadequate dental systems are now an international disgrace.”
Our teeth are fucked. You have no idea how fucking bad it is here. My front teeth are disgusting now and so decayed I'm worried they're going to break. It's almost impossible to get a dentist appointment. Is this it, lads?
Bong Anons, I've always wondered this about your teeth, why? why do they look like that? are there no dentists? are braces considered dangerous weapons?
>inb4 fat american, disgusting, lazy slob. I'm with you
People don't care much about their teeth here, if your teeth have fallen apart nobody will mock you for it.
Parker Johnson
I haven't been to the dentist in 10 years
there are lots of things you can do to help. just google them

It’s only bongs I’m of Irish descent and no one in my family needs braces and have pretty much perfect teeth. Although if I didn’t whiten them they would be yellow.

What is the problem, England?
It really is not that complicated.
Sebastian Lewis
You all have toothebrushes over their? Hydrogen peroxide? Mouthwash? Chewing gum?
To think you anglos somehow managed the whole world and now you can't even manage your oral health.
Having rotten teeth is painful as hell and makes eating a chore. Bet half or england cant even enjoy a good steak. Now I understand why the British boil the living hell out of everything.
main reason is decaying services, its almost impossible to get a dentist that isnt some Mugabe butcher or incompetent Lithuanian student
secondary reason is genetics mixed with poor diet. their ancestry creates short jaws so most people have serious impacted wisdoms and the high acid junk diet destroys the pallet.
>In other words, we have to acknowledge as existent in England throughout the period under consideration, and as gaining in vigour rather than losing it, a spirit which was in no respect different in kind, though it may have been in degree, from that which at a later date made the Manchester School a reality and led, among other enormities, to the crimes of both white and black slavery, the cruel bondage of children in the cotton mills, the Highland Clearances, and the obscene ill-treatment of women and children in the mines. True, it was the same individualism which had its glorious side in the "Nelson touch", the bravery, self-reliance and enterprise of the people of England on land and sea, and the pioneer independence and endurance of her toughest sons. But its darker expression was undoubtedly to be found in its asocial implications, with all that they meant in the form of the pursuit of private gain a outrance, the reckless exploitation of want and weakness and the policy of a war of all against all, in which the devil was left to take the hindmost. Nor was it without significance that, at the very end of the 365 years we are examining, i.e., in the fifth decade of the seventeenth century, Thomas Hobbes, doubtless shaping his cosmogony from the world about him, as Darwin was later to do with his "Struggle for Existence", arrived at the memorable conclusion that the natural state of man was a bellum omnium contra omnes.

IIRC the biggest thing is not eating 20g of refined sugar several times a day and not drinking soda.

(cont) if it is true that the development of late eighteenth and nineteenth century capitalism, with its ruthless scramble for wealth, was implicit in the policies and temper which ultimately triumphed in 1649; if it is true that the British Empire was already the richest Empire the world has ever seen when Charles Dickens was busy describing the grinding poverty of the masses of the nation, and that this poverty itself was also implicit in the spirit that became paramount in the seventeenth century — and I, for one, believe both these suppositions to be true — how can it be reasonably claimed that the effects of the spirit tend to appear only when the Jews are powerful? The fact cannot, I suppose, be contested that, when ultimately the Jews did return to England, they profited, as everyone else was at liberty to do, from the policy of laissez-faire which gradually prevailed. That they excelled in exploiting such a policy would, moreover, I assume, hardly be contested by any candid member of their own people. For, even their best friends — such men as Renan, Werner Sombart * (himself a Jew) and Dr. Ruppin (also a Jew) acknowledge, in different ways, the essential fitness of the Jew, not only to promote the kind of culture we recognise as modern capitalism, but also to thrive under it.

I've lost 3 teeth, first was down to an accident. I was given a False one on a brace for that, but I was young and never told how to care for my with the brace in, lost 2 more teeth due to the metal rubbing and eventually eroding them to the point of no repair. Other than than that Mine are fine, a bit wonky but braces, the fixed kind, are rarely used here. Discolored yes, dentists here are't paid to fix your vanity issues, just the damage. There's also a nasty Jewish muny grub they call the UDA, units of dental activity. Essentialy dentists are paid per unit, ~$30 per unit equvalent I think. So they normally cause you more damage just to get you back in. During a routine wisdom tooth extraction, I came back with a perfectly square hole in the side of a molar.. Had to go get it fixed, but without proofs they did it, I couldn't do anything. TLDR: no vanity fixes, system made to give you bad teeth for more dentist pay.
Brody Edwards
>chewing gum is good for your teeth
Aaron Barnes
Teeth are seriously stupid post-industrialization. There is nothing teeth can do that machines can't do better.
Nolan Morris
Also I use Mhap not Fluoride. Safer and teeth are much better off, no sensitivity etc.
David Mitchell
(cont) Politically", says Sombart, "he (the Jew) is an individualist." But, as we have seen, it was the extreme individualism which came into power in the seventeenth century, with its tacit slogan sauve qui peut that was ultimately responsible for the worst excesses of nineteenth century industrialism. Historically unsound, therefore, though it may be to attribute to the Jews the state of affairs and the practices which laissez-faire, inspired by the fundamental individualism of the Englishman, ultimately brought into being, the fact remains that the Jews who, in the seventeenth century, returned to England, found in this state of affairs and in these practices environmental conditions which suited them both their temperament and character.

What was it then in both the English and the Jews that conspired, after 1656, to develop and consolidate the kind of civilisation which reached its apogee in mid-Victorian days? Having replied, in the above, at least as regards England, to my original question: "How did those people ultimately fare who rid themselves of the Jews?" — I can now attempt a reply to this second question: the grounds for the apparent affinity of the English and the Jews in regard to the culture they jointly developed after 1656; whereupon I shall be ready to address myself to the principal subject of this essay, my solution of the Jewish problem. It has been maintained above that the English throughout their history have been animated by a separatist and isolationist spirit, tending often to express itself asocially, which I have called "individualism". But for various reasons I prefer the word "particularism" to denote this characteristic,
Adam Robinson
How is it possible? Shit genetics? I brush my teeth once a day and they are fine
Must be something they're adding to the water to make them docile... Do they fluoridate?
Xavier Watson
Wtf? My sister moved to Glasgow from Australia, it's cheaper there in Australia. She had a chipped tooth and had it fixed within an hour and it cost like 20 pound.
Evan Ross
I unironically watch British reality shows just for the teeth. It is comical shit.
Blake Sullivan
(cont) and it is the term used by Henri de Tourville in his famous "Histoire de la Formation Particulariste", where he traces the origins of this spirit to the ancestors of the ancient Saxons who ultimately colonised large areas of England. To him it means more or less what I have claimed for individualism — i.e., a temper that is at once independent, self-reliant and aloof, which looks upon the rest of the community from the narrow angle of the family, easily drops into xenophobia, and recognises few social obligations beyond that of minding one's own business. He claims that it was a product of the life led by the ancestors of a section of the Saxon people in their ancient home, the Norwegian fjords, and that, while it accounts for all those leonine qualities which brought them glory in the island they ultimately
- p. 175 - colonised, it also displays, on its darker side, the regrettable features I have sufficiently enumerated. If de Tourville's thesis is accepted — and he has carried conviction to men far better able to test it than I am — we possess an explanation at once illuminating and satisfactory, not only for many of the more distinctive traits of the English character, but also for their stubborn endurance during centuries of attempts to modify them. It should, however, be added in amplification of this statement of origins, that there were in the land from early times, and certainly after the Norman conquest, a few patriarchal elements (the Angles and the Normans themselves, for instance) which might account for the persistent, though admittedly feeble and unavailing resistance constantly offered to extreme particularist developments.
Colton Campbell
Actually i don't really know many people with shit teeth and all of them are over 50 so i never really understood this meme.
>main reason is decaying services, its almost impossible to get a dentist that isnt some Mugabe butcher or incompetent Lithuanian student Partly true

This isn't news.

you need to brush your teeth with xylitol. everyone needs to. i don't even use flouride toothpaste anymore, just xylitol. it's a sugar alcohol that kills on contact the bacteria that causes tooth decay.
David Foster
Personally I drink a lot of tea and smoke.
I also only brush my teeth in morning because I'm lazy, my teeth are intact just stained from smoking, if I get them whitened at the dentist they look fine but I don't care enough.
I also have a deep bite type of overbite but I just correct that by resting my jaw in a different position or else I don't have a jawline, nobody ever told me I had it growing up and it's too late to correct without surgery, which again I can't be fucked to do.
Dominic Brooks
Fucking hell m8, hiding this thread. Don't subjugate us normal people with ugly British teeth.

should, however, be added in amplification of this statement of origins, that there were in the land from early times, and certainly after the Norman conquest, a few patriarchal elements (the Angles and the Normans themselves, for instance) which might account for the persistent, though admittedly feeble and unavailing resistance constantly offered to extreme particularist developments. The fact that their influence failed to become paramount and was ultimately overwhelmed in the Grand Rebellion, should not lead us to deny their presence or the possibility of survival in relative obscurity up to recent times. This would explain some of the more social and kindly figures which, like Cobbett, Charles Dickens, the seventh Earl of Shaftesbury, and Michael Thomas Sadler in the nineteenth century, appeared from time to time in England to throw in their weight on the side of a broader and warmer humanity. A friend, moreover, has suggested to me that the mutualism and brotherhood imposed by necessity on crews serving in ships might, in the long run, have tended to modify a seafaring particularist folk in the direction of wider and deeper sympathies. This may be so, but the exorbitant cruelties of seamen of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries hardly bears out the contention. Is there anything similar to this in the pre-history of the Jews? It has been suggested, and I believe the suggestion to be both defensible and helpful, that they, too, have had a past which influenced them in a particularist direction. The long ages during which their remote ancestors, the ancient Hebrews, wandered the regions of Mesopotamia, Syria, Palestine and Egypt was probably the time when, having to lead the life of nomads — as some Semites still do — they acquired those self-same traits which, as we have

seen, typified that branch of the Saxon people which colonised a large part of England — that independent, self-reliant and aloof spirit which tends to look on the rest of men from the narrow angle of the family, readily inclines to xenophobia, and recognises few social obligations beyond that of minding one's own business. For, when once the nomad has exhausted the resources of a particular locality, packs his camels or asses with his belongings and moves on, always with the tacit comment "après moi le déluge!", he inevitably regards himself and his family as a complete unit owing service and duties to no man. Perhaps a common enemy, alone, would draw him and his like into some relation temporarily collaborative. The nomad is, then, a particularist, predestined, as it were, to accept en bloc the doctrines of the Manchester School without lifting an eyebrow. When, however, there is added to this fundamental particularism, acquired from the Jew's remote forebears, the fact that the early life of his people was led in a region which was already civilized at a time when Europe was still the home of the barbarians; which was, moreover, from the very dawn of history, a centre of trade of every imaginable kind, and so organised as to give the local population a familiarity with urban life on a scale unknown to Europe until centuries later, the conclusion is forced upon us that, with its seniority in urban and commercial experience and its hereditary adaptation to both, the Jewish people, as particularists, always enter the arena of a society organised along particularistic lines, with an immense advantage, an advantage which even other particularists, differently conditioned, do not enjoy. and one's own people are themselves largely responsible for the creation of that culture, is about as reasonable as for a loser at a game to abuse the winner, when its principle and rules are of his own making.

Sugarfree gum, especially Trident which has Xylitol, is good for your teeth. It rubs away excess dirt and bacteria and strengthens your jaw muscles.
Gabriel Wilson
Xylitol is the best. Why don't more people know about it?
Asher Sanders
The problem is not lack of dentists, it is a culture problem.
Children arn't taught or forced by their parents to brush and floss there teeth twice a day, so you end up with people in their 20s missing half of their front teeth.
Justin Ward
It's genetic.
Jose Thomas
All our water is flouridated, so much for that!

So do i and so are mine.
You need to keep in mind that these cases are rising because....mass immigration of people from the 3rd world.
Don`t mention the NHS, they don`t give free dentalcare unless you`re on the dole.

Also, it`s largely down to our binge drinking culture.

>It's almost impossible to get a dentist appointment. How the fuck is this possible? My dentist calls me in person when I don't show up regularly (not because he's worried for my health but because he's a greedy asshole who wants my money). Is there something you're doing different in the UK? I thought you had pretty much the same system as we do.

True. I had troubles because I neglected hygiene.

I work in/with dental insurance.. Shit is expensive.I can't comment on the cost in Britain, but here is some Canadian comparisons. Exams 100-200 Restorations 200-300$ per tooth RootCanals-Endo 600-1200 each Crowns/Onlay-Inlay 600-1200+Endo/core- Per tooth Extractions 100-400$ Dentures/Bridges 600-2000+ Impants(1200)Impl.Crown($1500-$3000ish per tooth Average estimates are $2000 For adults, $5000+ For children

It's about the same, I'm sure there are some dentists with a social conscious... Just not many!
Zachary Wright
People with teeth like that normally have had a chance or still can go to a dentist, they just dont Just like they dont brush their teeth to begin with, nothing stopping them Nasty fuckers
Easton Jones
so you guys have national health care and no one takes their kid to the dentist?
ive known people to get threatened with being charged with neglect after their kids had cavities at a school checkup.

Such an unfunny and forced meme. The UK doesn’t even place in the top 5 for countries with the worst teeth and places higher than the USA for countries with best teeth. Turn off your proxy mutt.

Dunno about the rest of the country but in Scotland a lot of the dentists outright refuse NHS patients, so then it's go private which is fucking expensive, and when people have other shit to deal with, you get this is guess.

wow dental problems can cause so many other health issues though. it would probably save the country money to cover it

Don't know what to say to that you cunt

>are braces considered dangerous weapons? Well I don't know about these days but dentists didn't do braces in the past, back in the 80s at least, wanting straight teeth was considered unbridled decadent vanity, a dentist became enraged when asked if there was anything could be done for my out of alignment teeth, so yeah it a culture of British dentistry that's to blame in my opinion.
Christopher Thompson
It's genetics. Brits have poorly developed narrow jawlines, so their teeth don't grow properly and are often crowded. Food particles and bacteria get stuck, and it's harder to clean.
It's obvious you despise black people because of the quality of their teeth.
Caleb Thomas
Did you mean to reply to someone else ? obviously they choose their profession for money not for compassion, I wouldn't even begin to dispute it, my point related to people thinking NHS dental care is free dental care, it isn't, unless you're milking the benefits system by pretending to be mental or something.
Anthony Cruz
bloody hell mate, you have an internet loicense for that?
>you're the false teeth country of the world You what, mate? Read what I said, It's not solely a hygiene problem, you also have shit genetics which cause these dental deformities.

is it diet? it's always diet.

It's funny because the UK statistically has one of the best levels of dental care amongst citizens. The fact that it's bad at the moment is a global issue. Americans should be careful as they're one of the worst as they focus on cosmetic dentistry not curative I.E you out lots of fake shit like veneers on your teeth and use damaging bleaching techniques but the tooth health is god awful. People in glass houses and all that.
My family on my mother's side has a gene that makes us produce plaque extremely slowly. I brush every day but I can go up to a week before any noticeable plaque forms. My peasant ancestors were the only peasants around with a full set of white teeth lmao

It would've happened by now were it not for commies forcing a redistribution of resources from each according to their ability to chew to each according to their need to chew.

How do Americans have any teeth at all with all the soda they drink? Honest question.
I'm lucky that I hate sweet stuff and never got a filling or damage but I still turned my teeth yellowy by smoking. I'm in the process of getting them bleached privately i hope this works and the EU hasn't put laws against effective peroxide solutions.
Ethan Smith
>a gene that makes us produce plaque extremely slowly It doesn't work like that, plaque isn't produced by your genes, it's bacteria.
