Deployed with infantry is not the same as being in the rear. At the base and shock trauma platoons (stp) there are women. Once you go outside the wire, there are no women.

You enlisted in the Marines, make the best of it. Don’t start bargaining and trying to switch branches. Marines are fine, and you might get to be deployed. Hell a MEU is a deployment and one went through Poland last month.
I treated Marines after IED blasts (most common injuries now) and that shit isn’t pretty.

We had to not only carry our pack, but the chute, and the reserve, and our weapons, and our armor, and our NBC gear I was the SAW gunner, basically three M16A2s. You will get strong. JUST DONT QUIT!

Well being a marine, you can go to jump school and get your wings, Army ran b.t.w.
But you wont likely be in an airborne unit, so youll just be a 5 jump chump. But the wings are good boy points. And its been a loooong time since an airborne unit has jumped into combat. Last time we came close was somalia (black hawk down)
This was right before I got in the first time, I was in the 82nd. In fact it was BECAUSE the 82nd was wheels up and otw that hostilities stopped.
The warlord guy heard the 82nd was coming, was going to jump in, and he quit after that.

This was the third jump, first mass jump. I broke my two middle toes on that one, but that wasnt the worst that day.

I see two chutes kinda close together one above the other.

The chute that was below slid under the guy above, or vice versa doesnt matter.
And the chute below stole above guys air, collapsed his chute.
Above falls about 30 feet.
Guy below literally caught aboves chute on his boot.
So you have one chute holding two. Above is now bottom dangling from his boot, they both hit. The bottom landed all sorts of wrong.
