what'll happen is just an escalation of what's been unfolding for the last few years. fringe elements on both sides, who have been infiltrated by government agents, will commit increasingly violent attacks on other citizens. the government agencies will do almost nothing to stop them; they will claim that they simply don't have the authority, funding, or oversight to combat such activities. this will continue until it reaches a crescendo. the general public will become desperate for them to step in, and will support congress as the lawmakers pass some superduper-omega-turbo police state legislation. in the end this draconian law will be mostly used to stomp out average joes by completely annihilating civil liberties, and allow the federal government to consolidate even more power.
