If Germany wanted to secede for the EU, and the EU decides to wage war on Germany, is Germany waging war because they are "anti-immigration", or are they doing it because they want independence.
The south may have ratified the constitution, but they did so long ago under different circumstances, as circumstances change. Especially as the Union demands more and more excesses of authority, circumstances change. When they say the "war was about state power" it means the states wanted to have a right to do whatever they want as the needs of the state residents dictate. If they want slavery, they should have slavery, and the union should not dictate what they can and cannot do.
The Jew slave North fought the war because the South was getting too out of the control of the Jewish banks thanks to their financial independence created largely by slave labor. Slavery was the reason for Southern financial independence and the Jews did not like that.
