Anything can be called ridiculous if you've never been shown the truth. Or worse, you've been shown a deliberate lie masquerading as truth. The alternative is believing that everything in our world is completely random. We chalk up the perfection that needed to happen to keep our planet at just the right angle, at just the right distance, at just the right time to form. We are made up of quite literally the most common elements in the universe. That means, statistically speaking, there should be a considerable more amount of Earth like planets or beings just like us if that's the case. Every argument I hear against this is "Not enough time has passed" or "We haven't explored enough of the universe to know for sure." Then I bring up the Big Bang and how scientific consensus is that this is the currently accepted theory regarding the creation of the universe. When I point at that a catalyst is what we scientifically know to cause change, yet we're not willing to even consider the possiblity that a being beyond our fathoming was the catalyst who was able to cause the unbalancing of matter and dark matter that lead to the explosion of exponentially increasing border distance from the center (which defies all known laws of physics) to the point we even faster than light travel will still be unable to catch up (how convenient). I don't believe in coincidences anymore.

Still haven't found proof for god, so no, i haven't.

What does "proof" look like to you? Do you really think you'd believe it regardless of the form it manifested as? Better yet, if this "proof" convinced you 100% of God's existence, how would you be able to prove it to others?

The burden of proof is on those claiming there is a god. It's really not up to me to define what god would look like, since i'm not the one that claiming there is a god in very specific details like Christians do.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. That's the oldest logical fallacy in existence. There's plenty of "proof" you just don't believe it. My point is that "proof" of God will never be acceptable to anyone unless it is tailored to that person, which is the whole point of the Holy spirit and how it works. You can't expect communication to work if you aren't willing to listen and communicate back.

Then why isn't it everywhere, why can't you definitively tell me, or show me exactly what it is? Every religions goal is to get more followers. If there was some kind of irrefutable proof out there then there would be no debate whether or not god exists or whether or not your god is the real god.

Asking for proof of god is lack of faith and those without faith would never believe in god even if he showed up and said hi. God is with you always he knows your sins and your reasons and in the end we will all make an account of our lives. 99.99% of us will fail and burn.

I'm pretty much agnostic. I think religion is necessary for societal and family values. But idk if there is a god or not. I just think that don't believe or are not sure, they shouldn't be hated for simply asking for proof

Read through New Testament. Read Revelations. You'll feel the calling if it hits you. Don't be concerned with the black/white of which version of the Church is right, no one version Is probably correct, but the New Testament Is his word. Give up your worldly vices alcohol, drugs, sugar, etc...these things keep you pinned in the flesh and lose your spiritual connectivity, so does crass materialism. Remember our society today is WAAAAAY different and backward that our actual Christian ancestry. Look at around at Evil/Wicked forces and see the totality of (((darkness))) that drives them, systematically. Look into the souless eyes of Antifa. Most importantly pray/mediation. Pray for your enemies and others always before yourself. Pay attention to small signs that you may write off as coincidence. The entire universe runs on very precise mathematical calculations if but one variable was off by even the slightest none of us would exist. That alone is proof enough for me. Just think of the odds that any other living person experiencing the exact same events as you have in your life and know its impossible. If all things are random chance then life has no point or meaning. Only through a greater will can we all exist and have purpose. Look at the world and see what the lack of faith has brought us. As on earth so it is in heaven.

I'm an atheist but I like Christianity. I think for most people it instills a good set of morals and a positive framework to live your life by, and I think Christian societies are usually the best socieities on earth. I simply don't believe in any of its divine claims.

I remember reading somewhere that the religious convictions of a person's father are the greatest determining factor of said person's future religious convictions. Maybe that's why the destruction of the family and the push for apathetic fathers has been prevelant in our societies, so that people also become apathetic nihilists.

unironically this. I was raised Mormon and active in the faith for 23 years. Left it when I joined the Army, acted like a degenerate for a bit, then I had kids and a lot about my views on life changed. I was fully disbelieving Atheist for a few years. I'm feeling the pull back towards Christianity again...I may not ever go back towards Mormonism because I learned about far too much corruption behind the scenes to ever want to embrace the institutionalized religion again. I found my old scriptures the other day and I feel a strong pull to go through them again. I may not fully re-convert back to Mormonism but I'm open to the idea of embracing a more personal form of Christianity after I work it out and digest it.

Wouldn't it make sense that if a moral structure works for everybody, then it's the truth? Meaning that if your life is greatly improved by being a Christian, just like everyone else's, then it is proof that there is truth behind Christianity.

I feel the opposite. I think Roman Catholics have the best aesthetics but Eastern Orthodoxy is calling to me.

user, this book is literally called "Evidence for Christianity" by Josh McDowell and in my opinion is one of the greatest works to support the faith. It talks of archaeology, prophecy, the Resurrection etc. What the user said is true though, if you ultimately don't have a will to follow God, you will always find a reason that any piece of evidence laid before you is somehow not sufficient. Jesus says as much in the parable of a rich man who was in hell:

Many different religions and people have had different ideas as to what god is throughout history. There if no definitive proof yet as to what god is, or what religion is correct about their depiction of god. I will say that i'm willing to believe there is a god. But i require proof, and the burden of proof is on the one claiming THEIR god is the god that exists.
