I had really bad impacted wax a couple of years ago and went to urgent Care and all they did was scratch the inside of my ear causing an infection. After an unsuccessful trip to the ER, I went to an ENT and he couldn't remove the wax for a week because the infected scratch swelled my ear canal too much. I had to wait a week and let me tell you it was one of the the worst weeks of my life. I was in so much pain and left very disoriented from the pressure inside my ear. Eventually I just started blasting my ear with this syringe that the ER gave me and eventually got it out myself. The amount of wax that came out was unbelievable and it was like a dark brown almost dirt consistency.
