Why didn't they stop here? They had Poland and south east Europe for lebensraum. Perhaps they also could of invaded Sweden too but why did they fuck with the USSR?

>USSR would of eventually invaded
That is utter bullshit, Stalin was not so stupid to invade much more advanced technological nation whilst they stuggled to keep there vast lands under control. Stalin was trying to play Germany and the West against one another. It would of made little sense to invade.

Germany could of kept mainland Europe under it's grip for the foreseeable future. No way was America going to help Britain unless Germany was weakened by the USSR.

Dis what happens when your a greedy git m8

We are really bad with moderation. Also I think we thought the USSR was coming to get us sooner or later.

Thats why the Hess documents are closed forever.
I think ZOG tricked the Germans to attack the Soviet Union somehow via assets, false information.
This has to be solved when the documents can be looked into.

>Stalin was trying to play Germany and the West against one another. It would of made little sense to invade.
He succesfully did that with the partition of Poland. It was Germany that attacked Poland first and USSR strategically delayed their attack on Poland, but during that period the West already had decided to fight Germany.

USSR had piled up assault troops on their Western border. Paratroopers that are not useful in defence. Tanks that were designed to take advantage of the good German infrastructure. Can't remember the rest. Why would you have so much assault capabilities without intent to be the aggressor?

Oil.

Even if the USSR had for some reason decided to never attack Germany or Japan the Allies would have won anyway. The only difference is that the war would have ended in 1946/47, it would have cost the Allies 1 million more dead and it would have cost the Germans a dozen nuked cities.

>this could've all been prevented with a german victory in ww1

Think about it. A decisive victory at the Marne would've prevented another 4 years of bloodshed. It's a damn shame moltke was so fucking incompetent. Gotta give the allies some credit though.

For /his/ fags - do you think first army could've flanked the French sixth if the order to retreat wasn't given?

why did Germany invade all of Poland? Germans only lived in some parts of western Poland

They were running out of oil and grain.

Because Poland wouldn't give those parts back

>so let's invade the rest of Poland

During the great crisis Poland built up gold reserve and applied austerity measures rather than go full retard and quintuple the national debt like one of its neighbours did. That neighbour needed gold to pay for resources they were buying from the communists so, Poland being weak and with its attention split between the east and the west was a great target.
Giving sudetenland worked so great for Czechoslovakia, huh.

Well they only invaded half, The USSR invaded the other half.

Not giving Danzig back worked out so great for Poland, huh

What was the guarantee Hitler would have stopped at Gdansk? Exactly, there was none.

It all went to shit with molotov ribbontrop.
Hitler should have taken the eastern territorys and keep the rest of Poland as bufferstate. Then take elsas, benelux and denmark and force the allies to a peace treaty

Put yourself in shoes of politician in 1939. Those who tried to appease Hitler by giving him a bit of their territory ended up losing it all. Why would anyone trust this guy again?

>stalin wasn't gonna attack germany guys honest ignore all the armies they built on the border for just that purpose lol i know better than german military leaders of the time what the best action was :D

Go fucking off yourself knobend.

>that is utter bullshit

Poland took back a small part of its commonwealth era land.

Why didn't we stop after Austria?
Sudetenland?
Bohemia?
Memel?

There were a million times to stop and each of them would have left Germany in a better position than before the war or today (territorially).

At the end of the day Hitler thought he could beat the world, so his ambitions were sky high.

it was about 50/50 PolishCommonwealth/Russian Empire

What? The land Poland took was literally all part of the commonwealth before the partitions

because of the schukow plan

Only small parts of it. Cities like lwow were Polish

didn't those people genocide Polish people after the Nazis invaded? UPA

Yes it was done by rural ukranians living in villages in the area.

it's like a small microcosm of Slavic history. Slavic people eternally butthurt at each other while the West pushes further and further East.

>West pushes further and further East.
Lol i woudnt be so sure

Stalin planned war, but for much later. When Germans attacked in 1941, the Red army was in the middle of reorganization. Their army went from 1,5 mil men before the war to 4 milion in 1941 and the numbers were supposed to increase still.
But the industry couldnt keep up and many tank and motorized units didnt have their vehicles. Many soldiers still had only very basic training. Also there was severe lack of officers due to this rapid growth (contrary to the belief that it was mainly due to the purges). Stalin tried to play it cool for the moment and unleash his massive new army when it war ready, probably by 1944-45. Despite all the German fuckups, 1941 was very good time for surprise invasion, even though Germs didnt know it themselves

Slav history is eternal cycle of being played like a fiddle against each other by germans, while germans themselves slowly take over misdirected slavs. NATO and EU is another continuation of the cycle

Germany was isolated, embargoed, Britain was not surrendering and on top of all that they had to supply all the new captured territory. It became Murphy's Law, they knew what full Russian mobilization might look like and probably realized that their was no victory in current condition, especially when the allies would be 100% complaisant in a full scale soviet invasion. TLDR Soviet supply cap > German supply cap. I Think Germany had no other choice at this stage but to go all in, i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure operation Barbarossa was planned before the invasion of France. They knew in hindsight after Poland they would be left with no choice but invade and seize control as many resources as possible and set up defensible boarders, but it begs the question why push to expand the Reich in the first place. Well if you take the model that the Jew has invaded almost everything and Germany just outright gave the Jew the middle finger, than with Germany's pre-war boarders how long would they have lasted? A simple trade embargo probably would have thrown the Nazis' out of power.

In the 1930's/40's Stalin was becoming increasingly paranoid, evidently by the purge and invading Finland to protect Leningrad. Also the German command received documents by German spies that the USSR was planning to invade the Nazis. So the situation was invade / be invaded

>Ussr would of eventually invaded
My boy they already had like 30k tanks by the time germany did invade, if anyhing germany had to invade them earlier, invading 1 year earlier could have helped.
