Please tell me whose politics for the last 10 years were set to make the white people and especially white, male, people feel not welcomed and guilty of their skin color? Identity politics in this country are not new, but for the last 10 years the left tried just tad too hard and pushed just tad to deep, without giving anything in return.
Here are your examples of, how this kind of actions created a reaction and depleted the middle in favor of the fringes:
1) how the Democrats created the far right.
The mentioned identity politics were absolutely skewed against whites as mentioned.On top of that the country, faced 8 years of economic problems and EXTREMELY HIGH unemployment rates. Guess who is suffering in times of unemployment more? Whites. Instead of dialing down the rhetoric the Democrats doubled down and essentially completely alienated part of that group. More than that: they then vilified that group and cried (as they have always done) racist, nazi, deplorable. Now they are surprised that it doesn't work anymore. Fucking shocking.
2) If it comes to the commie groups: rigging the party elections in favor of an establishment candidate and AGAINST a commie Sanders created a vast group of young people who are against the Democratic party. Most of them turned more to the left and some of them voted for Trump as a sign of rebellion. Still, most of them are your new freaking commies now.
The funny part is that I'm a centrist that did not vote Trump in 2016 but I will vote Republican now and Trump in 2020 because of the Democratic party and their stupidity.
What is the platform that the Democrats are running on, now? The platform is again AGAINST something, not toward anything. They are using the same tactics that they used before, but this time it's not working because the population has changed.
November won't be a Democratic blue wave thx to that. Be my guest and screencap this if you want.

The funny thing is that, as I said above, both fringes are growing and the center is shrinking. I estimate that the right is growing faster but that will be tested in November and then 2020. If I'm right we will see a badly defeated Dems(the polling already looks bad, even with the usual left flavoring all over it)
What I'm afraid of is the fact that the situation is loaded like a powder keg and it may blow up (hopefully not). This time, the right and the left want the confrontation. Over the decades, the left was usually the aggressive side, with the right being more reactionary. I'm afraid that we can actually see the 60's riots with the right joining in and not counting on the Police or the State.
I don't really like the situation at all. I also think that some groups are pushing for outright civil war, and for the political unrest in general, and this is a very dangerous time to be pushing this kind of rethoric.

This is exactly what I'm seeing. The Democratic policies and the MSM kvetching is actually hurting them, instead of helping. They are unwilling to change the tactics, and are blindly following the old way of action.
And it's no longer working. They are running against everything right now. Trump is, of course, the biggest scape goat but they are running against their own people. Complete mess.
I'm a centrist and maybe because of that I can see it clearly and I will be voting for Trump in 2020(did not vote for him in 2016) and Republican in midterms to give the Rep party a chance for a big majority.
I hope that this will give the country a pause and the Dems will change their fucked up tactics. If that fails(or if the Dems won'tchange their tactics even if they completely lose), then I'm a bit afraid of what will happen.
The level of aggression is really unspeakable. No one talks to the other side. It's getting ridiculous.
