My initial thought was that this was pretty hypocritical. That one of the planks of the new right in America was to say fuck censorship.
But they kept coming for people- Milo (in b4 faggot nigger lover), Rosanne, Alex Jones (banned on Facebook), Lauren Southern banned from the UK, Ann Coulter's speeches shut down, and a few intellectuals on the left got it- and called them out. But the vast majority didn't. They'd misconstrue any sentence out of context, they'd call you a racist for anything, they'd stop at nothing to get the famous Trump supporters fired and kicked out of polite society.
And it's still going on- Twitter admitted a couple of days ago that it's harder to search for/find Trump supports. They go out of their way to change results to shill for leftists. The left even hates Elon Musk now because he donated to Republicans.
Calmly explaining that corporate/university censorship was a bad thing didn't work. They didn't listen. They need to be shown why this is bad.
Do you all remember that episode of KOTH when Hank's house tested positive for mold? The mold specialists were railroading him, he tried reasoning with them- didn't work, tried politely asking them to stop- didn't work, he had to beat them at their own game.
Perhaps we need to beat these people at their own game until the corporations, universities, and media all have a culture change. We push until they admit it's better to give people a second chance, and not deplatform everybody who disagrees with you.
We'll never convince the feral anti-Trump activists to let up. But perhaps we can convince the CEO's, university presidents, and media executives to not immediately cave to public pressure and start axing people and ruining their lives because of twitter campaigns.
So let's rack up as many scalps as we can as quickly as possible. Not even just leftists- literally any business leader, professor, or celebrity with a large public profile. Get 'em all until everyone sees what a fucked up witch hunt is going on.
Then we won't have to hide our unpopular opinions for fear of professional backlash and we can all start speaking the truth without fear.

That's not exclusive to science fiction though. People are influenced by the all media they consume, and all media affects how they view the world. To single out science fiction is silly. All fiction, period, is fictional in which things usually considered impossible or highly unlikely happen frequently. This affects how people view what's possible and what isn't.
