Started thread because no other thread.

I have a dilemma lads:

My wife is willing to go to RCIA and convert to catholicism for me, for our kids, which is great. However, she doesn’t really believe it- she has never been religious and doesn’t take any religious ideas seriously. Will she even be able to get through the class? Will lying/faking her way through be worse than not going at all?

I’m rrally excited to have this foot in the door- but now I’m concerned that it’s just not good enough. Any advice?

Background: married 6 years, three kids, both of us were atheists when we got married. I came around to religion three years ago, she has always just been apathetic/skeptical

Catholicism is heresy and betrayal.

Hmmm. Why even marry when you don't perceive this as a sacrament?

third world spics like you are wastes of oxygen and resources

Praise the divine

Women love Francis, but he only loves children...so sad.

That said, Catholicism is still better than Protestantism. Protties need to learn to listen to Francis and admit that they are heretics for turning away from the Church.

personally I think I always believed in God even when I called myself an atheist. I always believed that it was the right thing to get married and to have children, and I always wanted to do it, even though I couldn’t justify it with secular reasoning

Is Francis, the $0y equivalent of Pontifex, really the best entry for people to enter the church? He doesn't seem concerned with the survival of the faith and reestablishing it as the focal point of society, the damn dalai lama is less open borders than Francis

Catholicism is not popular in the West. Why not Deus Vult with the migrants? You will notice that the Vatican has a wall and women are not allowed to be citizens let alone vote. This is pol's perfect city with the exception of the very high percentage of pedocriminals.

>finally got a good steady job, have a mortgage, everything's going fine, parents are happy I'm doing well
>became convinced that Catholicism is the only path to salvation
>would have to quit job because can't not work Sundays whenever they need me to (most of the time)
>missing Mass on Sunday is a grave sin let alone working
>small town, probably couldn't find another job if I quit this one
What does He want me to do?

it's a Tribe of DN creation, and a lie
worthless shit eating faggots like you who perpetuate a lie are worse than third world spicnigs
you chose to remain as stupid as the day you were born and tries to insult others, a true waste of a life

the Church is open to everyone, even those who work sundays. You have options man, talk to a priest

if the pope washes the feet of refugees and blesses Muslims who literally cut their daughters vulvas off, you should be fine for being forced to work, which itself is a virtue

But don't you have some religious accommodation rights in Finland? Tell your job you need it on religious grounds

Don't they have mass at different times? I don't know what's the real answer here but I'm interested in finding out because I often work sundays

>talk to a priest

This is only safe if you are above the age of 12. Otherwise, bring a trust adult with you to supervise the meeting. Do not kids unattended when near the church. If you have kids under the age of 12, it is best to leave them at home with a trusted adult. Remember that the other priests will know that you are meeting with another priest during that time.

they have mass every si game day, usually 4-5 times on the weekend including Saturday (which will count for the Sunday obligation), and those who have to work Sundays are exempt because you’ve done everything in your power- you will be able to go to a daily mass and/or do an extra devotion to make up for it. The church has a lot of rules but the rules aren’t there to torment you, they are there because walking that path will enrich your life spiritually

They do but the point is that not coming to Sunday Mass because you're working is *bad*
>CCC 2181 The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and confirmation of all Christian practice. For this reason the faithful are obliged to participate in the Eucharist on days of obligation, unless excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their own pastor.119 Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin.
And I think grave sins are only forgiven if you also intend to never do it again

Talk to a priest dude, he will be able to answer all of your questions and put your mind to rest on this issue.

Catholics are not Christians. Catholics are pagans.

>catholic
>calling someone else a third world spic

That Catholics are “pagan” is all the more reasonto join. It is the true European religion and tradition that unites all incomplete paganism into the complete truth.

It's bad enough to be a useless spic in spic america, but to be a useless monkey AND be a pagan, that's crossing the line

Good News! We are at the bottom of the feet at last. God's Kingdom ruled by King Jesus Christ is up next. You guys are living in exciting times.

>(Daniel 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

PIC RELATED

>(Daniel 2:45) forasmuch as you beheld that out of the mountain a stone was cut not by hands, and [that] it crushed the iron, the copper, the molded clay, the silver and the gold. The grand God himself has made known to the king what is to occur after this. And the dream is reliable, and the interpretation of it is trustworthy.”

>(Isaiah 28:16) therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation. No one exercising faith will get panicky.

>(Daniel 2:34) You kept on looking until a stone was cut out not by hands, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and of molded clay and crushed them.

>(Psalm 118:22) The stone that the builders rejected Has become the head of the corner.

>(Romans 9:33) as it is written: “Look! I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense, but he that rests his faith on it will not come to disappointment.”

>(1 Peter 2:6) For it is contained in Scripture: “Look! I am laying in Zion a stone, chosen, a foundation cornerstone, precious; and no one exercising faith in it will by any means come to disappointment.”

>(Luke 20:17) But he looked upon them and said: “What, then, does this that is written mean, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the chief cornerstone’?

>(Acts 4:11) This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’

>(1 Corinthians 3:11) For no man can lay any other foundation than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

>(Ephesians 2:20) and YOU have been built up upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, while Christ Jesus himself is the foundation cornerstone.

Pic related. The stone that you see in Daniel destroying all the kingdom of the world starting at the bottom of the feet is the same cornerstone of God's Kingdom: Jesus Christ. Jesus himself, along with an army of angels, will come down here and execute all evil doers in the world. The West will not be conquered by another human empire. It will be conquered by Christ himself. How long until imminent empire collapse(politically, socially, economically) and another human empire can take over? Many anons here have helped me narrow this down to 20-30 years.

Do you know what happens next?

Good goy.

The primary theme of Jesus ministry wasn't salvation and it wasn't repentance. It was God's Kingdom.

>(Matthew 4:23) Then he went around throughout the whole of Gali·lee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and curing every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity among the people.

>(Matthew 4:17) From that time on Jesus commenced preaching and saying: “Repent, YOU people, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.”

>(John 18:36) Jesus answered: “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

The model prayer

>(Matthew 6:9, 10) “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

>(Matthew 6:33) “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU.

The entire theme of Jesus is his father's Kingdom being the solution to all lives problems.

The verses all there imply that a heavenly regime will invade earth and wipe out all disobedient mankind. Pic related, the earth will be transformed into a beautiful paradise where all of you will live there and not visit there. You will all be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually perfect. No defects of any kind. No sickness, no old age, no mental disorders, no crime, violence, fear and no death.

>(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

What if you go on a trip or camping over the weekend? There's no church in the woods.

>started watching porn and gore videos at a very young age
>discovered Jow Forums when I was a teenager
>spent the last 10 years isolated just consuming garbage
>decided to get a job working with mentally handicapped people a few years ago
>just got the job to make some money
>slowly start to get to know all of them and their backgrounds
>before I know it they start calling me their brother
>theyre ready to fight any person/mentally handicapped person that disrespects me
>I take them to the gym everyday to play sports with "normal" people and they absolutely refuse to play on anyone else's team, only my team
>tell me they love me every day
>tell me to have a great weekend every Friday and they can't wait to see me again Monday
>the whole time I'm working there my coworkers are telling me about God
>took a vacation
>come back and the mentally handicapped people run up to me and hug me
>tell me they love me and missed me
>they start crying because they're so happy I'm back
>I start crying like a little bitch
>it's the first time I've ever felt pure

I'm ready pol, I wanna come home

read the mass reading for that Sunday, pray, say a devotional, or of none of that happens accept that you’ve committed a sin and go to confession. The latter is very businesslike- it’s not about being humiliated or judged by the priest, it’s about making up for it and getting absolution

Can you go to a mass in the Saturday evening? That fulfills the precept.

Our tiny church has no Mass on Saturday

Guys I am at a strange crossroads. I have improved my life, cleaned up my act, found God to be a real presence and a necessary ideal, and realized the necessity of the Church in the world. My issue is this: I cannot find it in myself to rejoin a congregation. Weird childhood memories come back every time I even consider it, and I dislike what direction the church is taking at the moment. Every mass I attend feels silly and without gravity, it feels empty. I'm not sure I fully consider myself a Christian to the exclusion of anything else at the moment, but I feel a pull towards the Church, which is unsatisfying. I feel deeply moved reading Augustine but deeply sad leaving mass.

What do I do? I defend the Church but I can't find it in myself to join it. I love God but I also don't feel like the Protestant path of solo fides is correct.

even at the end of the rcia process the choice is largely hers whether or not she wants to be baptised and confirmed. go to rcia with her, support her and hope she comes to believe the truth

Was a Roman Catholic for 20 some years.

Stay away from it.

It is not good.

Have you read Charlton? He's probably not for everyone but he thinks about these things

She will choose to be baptized regardless because she wants the benefits of joining the church (cheap tuition for catholic schools, community, unified family, her parents will be happy) but I doubt she is anywhere close to really having faith

The priest might offer one just for you. Seriously dude talk to a priest, there will be a way for you to do it but you have to reach out.

soon

I have not, but I will check it out now. It is worth mentioning that I am approaching this from a decidedly Catholic perspective, if I am to return to Christianity. I guess I'm having trouble with the leap from theism to a personal acceptance of Christ and a "finish" to the search .

Thank you for the recommendations.

alright bruhs so long story short.

Lifetime Catholic etc..

I know getting into heaven is not like a scale of good vs bad but the situation is this..I don't do drugs, smoke, drink, girls etc, I've only made love to one girl and thats my current girlfriend, and the temptation to get with my girl overcomes me everytime. That's literally the only 'bad' thing I've ever done, have sex with my current girlfriend. What do I do? Can't do marriage yet obviously, but I want to be right with God

get married faggot

get married faggot

Catholic bro here and father of six kids all 7 and under, married 8 years.

see and Seriously tie the knot or cut off the sex or the relationship.

Make sure that whoever you marry is open to life, respects you, and respects the sacrament of marriage (no divorce whatsoever- that is more for her not you). If she doesn't find one who does.

Good luck and God be with you.

seriousness of the eucharist
>alter boy back in the latin days
>priest happened to drop a wafer and it bounced off the palette (tray held below chin) onto floor
>other alter boy went to pick it up and priest shoved him violently since nobody but priest to touch consecrated wafers
>50 years later 20 something asian girl in a mini serves the wafers with her fingers

people mistreating it doesn't make it any less serious
