The path of suffering is not necessarily the bad one. There is much more to this discussion than most abrahamists on this thread seem to think and those wikipedia-level definitions of left/right hand path are laughable.
Any doctrine that promotes that end of suffering must be examined carefully. Existence is struggle and suffering and there are no shortcuts around it. Spiritual doctrines based on avoiding suffering (any abrahamist doctrine) often do more harm than good and if you think about it, they are the basis for most of the liberal-globalist political doctrines of our time (end suffering by complete homogenization of everyone and everything).
Accepting and overcoming suffering is the path to enlightenment that is more in accord with the natural laws. That's why I said that true path is probably somewhere in between left and right.
