Why are governments, law enforcement and the leftists so scared of sound suppressors and moderators? I've tried all avenues of trying to get one and I keep getting denied saying it's "too dangerous".
And we I talk to my family about it, they suddenly think I'm some kind of serial killer or assassin when all I want to do is eradicate feral pests from my land without scarring the shit out of my livestock and native fauna (as well as saving my hearing).

In France, up until 2012, suppressors were completely unregulated and anyone could buy one as they would buy bread. Leftards didn't give a fuck about it, somehow, probably because they weren't even aware it was this way. However they were banned for hunting, which makes no sense, considering that's where they are the most useful. Countries with more restrictive gun laws, such as the UK and nordic countries, not only allow suppressors for hunting, but they also encourage the use of it, for obvious reasons.
So back to France, since 2012 a new gun law had regulated suppressors, but they are still easy enough to buy with a license.
In early 2018, they finally allowed us to hunt with suppressors, after it had been forbidden to do so for 32 years!
And suddenly leftards went into a frenzy : every single mainstream rag started writing articles about how evil silencers that make guns totally silent like in the movies are going to increase the number of deaths because of hunting, that people who enjoy walking in the wild will become a target since they won't hear gun shots, and that evil nazi hunters will be able to kill left wing anti-hunting protestors and be poachers in complete silence. The whole French press started saying this shit, I shit you not.
Even left wing politicians lost their shit over this, and one asked at the assembly how they could have allowed this, etc.
And a politician from the party in power just told him that suppressors don't actually make guns silent, it just lowers the sound a bit to preserve hunters' hearing.
Haven't heard about it since, but yeah, that's their "arguments".

Fuck, I wish that would happen here. There was talk about legalizing it here, but after some mass shootings in the US (I think the one with kids involved was the catalyst) and some interference from the Port Arthur survivors, all talk of it suddenly was dropped.

In theory, yes, in practice you don't need any authorization to buy any suppressor, the license will be enough as long as the suppressor can also fit on a category C firearm. And you don't even need to own the gun you want to fit it on, or even a gun in the same caliber. Just order whatever you want, show your icense, and you get it.
