With all this talk about UK police cracking down on knives from all the knife murders in London, I was wondering... can you buy tools there? Things like cordless saws, a hammer, a crowbar, an axe etc are just as, if not more, effective than a knife. Where will it end?
Are tools banned in UK too?
with a thought licence

You need to be 18 and over and make sure you can't easily access it while transporting. you have to have a locked case or something.
just buy a "hurley" and walk around with it
you could say your just coming back from a game at the park
There was a law made in 2000-ish requiring chainsaws only to be used by holders of a "Forestry Licence" (whatever this may be) but you can buy them anywhere and no-one gives a fuck, as the law is so obscure, nobody's really heard of it. Curved swords over 20" can't be imported unless they're "traditionally made" - a phrase open to many interpretations.
I, myself got into some trouble importing katanas to the UK, had to contact the Home Office for assistance, so I was allowed to import one which was demonstrated, on their website, being forged (Chenness Cutlery), the second one was impounded and destroyed as the firm manufacturing them went bust and therefore had no online presence to offer proof of their "traditional" manufacture (they were called Oni" something or other, I forget).
Honestly mate, if you're not a nog or hanging around on a council estate you can carry almost anything anywhere.
you can buy all of that stuff. probably have to be 18 for axes and shit though.

license is only required to use a chainsaw in a professional capacity. not for using one on your own property.
but you are right that nobody cares about the licenses anyway.
yes we even have to cut our fingernails and get them inspected by the police every 2 weeks
Things like this are age restricted, but perhaps in the future they will force stores to keep records of people buying things like hammers and felling axes, it would not be a surprise even if it would do next to nothing.
