jim crow didn't go far enough. those laws were actually very tame. they applied to people of both races too. the law literally said "separate but equal". they had their own schools, their own facilities everywhere. we were entirely too hospitable to them + a big part of the rationalization for those laws and their justification was that it was considered immoral to force black children, for example, to try to partake in white schools where they couldn't keep up and didn't fit in.
blacks are different from whites, our ancestors understood that and understood why it's wrong to expect them to fit into white society.
today the EXACT same rhetoric is used by the left when they say things like "capitalism is inherently white supremacist because it represents white values".
literally that is the same exact point used by the people who drafted the jim crow laws.
